Intelligent Ground connection
There are more than a few AC clean-up devices that add an extra Ground/Earth but only the AC iPurifier has ‘Intelligent Ground’. Polarity and Earth detection
When it comes to mains AC, there are two common errors which people can make when setting up a system. The first has to do with polarity and the incorrect orientation of USA and EU type mains pins. Intelligent Polarity automatically informs you of incorrect orientation by changing to a red LED.
The second error is the a lack of Ground/Earth. In a system where there may or may not be a lack of a Ground/Earth, simply insert the AC iPurifier into the system and it will tell you one way or the other. When the two LEDs light up green everything is in order!
Overvoltage Surge Protection
For the rare instances where there is an overvoltage spike (from a mains electricity surge or lightning strike for example), the AC iPurifier will automatically shut off and stop electricity from passing through your system. This should protect your valuable and highly-sensitive mains equipment from harm.
Noise Reduction
This chart compares the AC iPurifier (green line), which is ACTIVE, versus generic mains filters (red line) which are typically passive. | Answer: | This unit is NOT designed to kill SOURCES of 60 cycle hum. It is designed to isolated the input from the output so that signal ground loops cannot happen. These types of units can work miracles in that way. If you expects to kill hum and buzz from a single coil pickup this is not going to do that. The only way that is going to happen is to put a noise gate in the circuit (to hide the hum at low signal levels) or replace the single coil pickup with a humbucking pickup. There are no magic solutions to the problem of pick-up hum outside of playing the guitar in an electrically quiet environment without light controllers, dimmers and flourescent lighting. |

| Answer: | Yes, it comes with rubber feet, but they're easily removed. The person here who said it wouldn't fit in his rack probably held it in place and tightened one screw, and then the holes for the other screws wouldn't line up with the holes in his rack. The holes in this unit are oversized and slotted. Put all four screws in, but don't tighten them until all four are in place - then tighten them and you won't have any problem. I've assembled several dozen of these into 19 inch rack cabinets with no problem. If you'd like to see how they line up with the holes in your cabinet, lay your cabinet face down and put the power unit in place - you'll see that the holes do, in fact, line up with the mounting holes in the cabinet. |

You would need an electrician if it can even be installed in the radio. Typically LED lamps do not cause electrical interference unless they are either very cheap knockoffs that are poorly designed or on their way out. In either case they should be replaced with a reputable name brand bulb. |

| Answer: | I think you should not reverse the wiring, that is, I'd hook it up as it was designed to be installed. It should suppress electrical noise equally well in both directions. Having said that, if you have a piece of electrical equipment you think is causing noise being picked up by other equipment, it may not be being transmitted via the power connection -- it could be transmitted through the air to the power cables of the other equipment, for example, in which case this filter won't help -- you may need to put the filter on the equipment picking up the noise, instead! |
