Question:	how do you properly install these with the ground
Answer:	These can't be "properly" installed, because that would imply the screw going through the adapter's ground tab was actually grounded. These adapters are used in cases where a modern 3 prong device needs to be plugged into an old 2 prong outlet. 2 prong outlets are a thing of the past. When they were installed only a line and neutral wire was run to them. There was no ground wire back then. Your outlet box may be metal (surely it is if it still has a 2 prong receptacle in it) but the metal is not grounded to anything, except in the very unlikely scenario where there are metal conduit runs connecting the boxes to the main panel. So when you run that cover screw through the adapter tab you aren't grounding the adapter. In the event of a device malfunction such as an internal short, stray current won't be able to find ground and therefore the circuit breaker or fuse won't trip. If stray current finds neutral inside the device it should trip the circuit breaker or fuse, but that is not how all shorts happen. Grounded areas inside three prong devices help minimize shock and fire hazards when hooked to a properly grounded 3 prong outlet. Using these adapters is a compromise between convenience and safety. I wouldn't recommend it if you are highly concerned about safety. You can replace the outlet with a 3 prong GFCI outlet (only hooking up your line and neutral wires since you don't have a ground) and apply a (often included) label that lets people know the outlet's ground terminal is not hooked up eg "this outlet is not grounded". This will provide a higher level of safety against device shorts and overcurrent than this 3 to 2 prong adapter.

Answer:	Unfortunately, you won't be able to power a 110V device from a USB port. USB simply cannot deliver that kind of power, converter or not. If you need to run a plug-in device in a car that has 12V jacks ("cigarette lighter" ports), you can use a device called an inverter to do so. Search "car inverter" here on Amazon and you'll find lots of them. Look at the power requirement of your device (i.e. how many watts it uses) to determine what size inverter you will need. Good luck!

Answer:	What do U mean "female socket (switch)"? It used to be that standard household outlets were designed for both 15 & 20 Amps; now they have special plugs and outlets for 20 Amps. #12 wire is rated at 20 Amps, #14 at 15 Amps; so if your breaker was properly installed, a 20 Amp breaker should feed at least #12 wire; 15 Amp breakers could feed #14 wire (cheapskate electricity). I never heard of any device to downstep amps like volts. If a device is rated for only 15 amps, it should be because the copper in it is not thick enough for 20 amps. The amps is determined by the load (applicances) attached. That ability to supply amps is limited by the wire thickness. My guess (ask manufacturer) is that this device is labeled limited to 15 amps only because it might be plugged into a wall socket that uses #14 wire inside the wall, so you would not want to run 20 Amps off of #14 wire. A load limit is not a "downstep."

But the only way I would want to use this adapter at all would be using it to connect to a 15Amp STYLE outlet, which is actually rated at 20 Amps, fed with #12 wire, fed by a 20 Amp breaker. I think the only purpose of this 20 Amp STYLE outlet & plug is to prevent hooking 20 amps to a #14 wire (cheapskate) circuit. IMHO it is only in recent history that they began distinguishing outlets fed by #12 from those fed by #14 wire by a special designed outlet style.

Answer:	It's actually made to be plugged into a grounded wall socket, replacing the 2 3-pronged outlets with its 6 available grounded outlets. It can even replace the outlet cover and be screwed into place. I've got a bunch of these and love them.

Answer:	My outlets are flush with the cover plate surface. Both the outlet and cover plate surfaces stand proud of the wall surface about 3/16". After I remove the center screw from the cover plate , install the new wall plug adapter into the original plug [with or without the original wall plate] the new wall plug adapter does not contact the wall surface. It is about 1/8" to 3/16" gap between the wall and the rim of the new wall plug adapter. I don't like this because the result is a wiggly assembly, does not feel solid or secure even though it is firmly screwed into the old, pre-existing outlet. It the new wall plug adapter had a deeper recess on the back [wall] side it would not have this gap and would feel much more secure.

Question:	When using the 12 volt setting, what are the amps
Answer:	I haven't used or tested the 12 Volt setting. However excluding losses a IxV=W, so we can substitute and get I=W/V which in this case would be I=12/12, so theoretically the maximum current at 12 Volts would be 1 Amp.
Question:	I have no idea what "inner positive" means, so how does one know if they have a device that is inner positive? all the connection says is 4.5v dc
Answer:	This can be tricky in some instance.. This unit has a (+) positive inner, and a (-) negative outside. Which means the female of the plug is positive, and the male ( outer metal) is negative. Now tricky part, some devices use outer ( positive "+") and (negative" -" ) inner. I ran into this with some light, and score board. I bought generic transformer on Amazon, and none worked. took apart light , and found the polarity was reversed. This is how OEM folks fool conservatives that don't buy OEM parts, or know how electricity works in dc circuits. (Had me confused for an hour or two) OEM= Original Equipment Mfg.
