I know for instance that I could plug my VHS machine into the rear of an older receiver and feed the HDMI out to an older HDTV. Answer:	That's the way I use it. I have a DVR/VHS attached to my smart TV and watch DVDs and VCRs on my TV. Computer: doubtful--unless you have some software I've never heard of. Most HDMI ports on computer only output video can not be used to input. Computer monitor, definitely. The VCR should work just fine.

Answer:	Hi Michael, I suspect it will. I'm running a Canon Vixia800 into an HDMI splitter. One side goes into this output and the video (yellow) lead into an old Bogen video recorder. Audio for us comes from a mixer to create DVD's, so I haven't tried the audio connection yet. Looks good on the monitor so I would say it should work for your purpose.

Answer:	My TV is a Samsung. It does not have an av port. It has what is called a one connect box. My VCR output is connected to the RCA input to Video Converter. The HDMI output from the Video Converter is connected by a 4K HDMI cable to the one connect box. Make sure you use a 4K HDMI cable. If your TV has an additional HDMI input you should come out of the Video Converter with an 4K HDMI cable and connect it to the HDMI on the back of your TV. I hope this helps.

Answer:	I leave all the settings on and drive everywhere in highway mode. Although it tends to go off more than I would like and can drive me crazy, it's never missed the real thing. The only feature that doesn't work properly is the train alarm. I don't use tgis in my daily travels so it's no a huge deal to me but it would be convenient if it worked properly. 4 out of 5 stars I give it.

Answer:	I believe it will. This unit converts any video & r/l audio to hdmi. It has it's own power source so it does not rely on signal level from the input or output. I use it for my Wii and it works much better than the direct Wii to hdmi converters.
Question:	I'm connecting a samsung smart tv to a surround sound system that only has rca input. do i need the cable only or a converter
