8 best directv satellite antennas
DirecTV satellite antennas are essential components of a satellite television system, allowing users to receive digital television signals from satellites in orbit. These antennas, also known as satellite dishes, are a crucial part of the setup for accessing DirecTV's satellite television services. Here is what you should know about DirecTV satellite antennas:
Dish Type: DirecTV satellite antennas come in various sizes and types, but the most common type is the parabolic dish. These dishes are designed to capture and focus satellite signals onto the receiver.
Installation: Proper installation is critical to ensure that the antenna is aligned correctly with the satellite in orbit. This typically involves mounting the dish securely on a pole or wall, positioning it at the right angle, and pointing it in the direction of the specific satellite(s) transmitting DirecTV signals.
LNB (Low Noise Block): The LNB is a component attached to the antenna's arm or feed horn. It receives the satellite signals collected by the dish and converts them into a lower frequency that can be transmitted to the DirecTV receiver.
HD and 4K Compatibility: Many DirecTV satellite antennas are designed to be compatible with high-definition (HD) and even 4K broadcasts. This allows users to enjoy high-quality video and audio.
Multi-Satellite Capability: Some DirecTV systems use multi-satellite setups, which involve aligning the antenna to receive signals from multiple satellites simultaneously. This is often necessary to access a broader range of channels.
Splitters and Wiring: In a multi-room setup, splitters and cabling are used to distribute the satellite signal to multiple receivers or TVs. Splitters divide the signal into multiple paths, ensuring that each connected device receives a signal.
Weather Considerations: Satellite signals can be affected by adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain or snow. Some DirecTV dishes are designed with weather-resistant features to mitigate signal loss during inclement weather.
Professional Installation: While some users may attempt to install DirecTV satellite antennas themselves, it's often recommended to have professional installation to ensure the best signal quality and alignment.
Accessories: DirecTV antennas may come with various accessories, including mounting brackets, mast assemblies, and signal amplifiers, to enhance the overall satellite TV experience.
Service Provider: DirecTV satellite antennas are specifically designed for use with DirecTV's satellite television services. To access DirecTV channels and content, users typically need to subscribe to DirecTV and use their provided equipment.
In conclusion, DirecTV satellite antennas are critical components of a satellite television system, allowing users to receive a wide range of channels and content. Proper installation and maintenance are essential to ensure optimal signal quality and reception, and users should follow the manufacturer's guidelines for setup and use.

User questions & answers
Question: | can it work from guantanamo bay cuba? i already have the directv swm 5 lnb slimline ka/ku sl5 mpeg4 hd lnbf w/ power supply and 8way splitter |
Answer: | yes it work, right now there's hundreds of cuban watching directv, all Florida azimuth is between 210 and 240 sw, elevation is 51 degree. you will have to find signal around there. you need to have a directv receiver active in us. Thanks Peter |
Question: | Does this dish work with an H |
Answer: | It should, depends upon the LNB. Looks like it wants an SWM. |
Question: | Will this work with a D12-100 box |
Answer: | Yes, but keep in mind this package does not contain an LNB. If you currently have a dish with an compatible LNB you may be able to remove it from the current dish and install it on this dish. If you currently do not have a dish with an LNB for your receiver, an SWM system (SiWM) or SWM SL5S LNB that uses the single wire technology with power injector will be needed. |
Question: | Is this dish compatible with a H21-100 & H24- 100 receivers |
Answer: | Yes. They are both hi-def receivers and this is a hi-def dish. You will also need an LNB for the dish. You can get a SWM LNB, this is current type of LNB, or you can get an older style LNB that has four outputs and requires a B-Band converter for each receiver. Search "SWM technology" for a more detailed explanation of how it compares to the older technology. Good luck! |

User questions & answers
Question: | will this work with h25-100 receiver |
Answer: | Hi, you must to be careful because this item is a regular LNB 4 outputs, what happening is many people are selling the SWM under this item, so make sure it said the word SWM. Thanks Peter |
Question: | Will this lnb receive the reverse band 4k signal |
Answer: | Hi, right now, any LNB SWM will work with the 4k, the Reverse SWM 3 or 5 LNB is the one Directv is installing for the future change (1 or 2 years from now) for right now you just need to have a HR54 and C61k. the client C61k is the one that you need to install on the TV 4K (UHD). So if you have this one all ready at home, just need receiver. any other question is welcome. Thanks Peter |
Question: | Does it pick up for 2 receivers |
Answer: | It will do 2 receivers with DVR. 4 without. |
Question: | do I need b bands with this |
Answer: | Hi, all depend on your receivers, except HR23and H23,not need it. The rest need it, but if you have a genie system, then you will need SWM LNB. Peter |
Question: | How far does the pole stick out away from the mounting plate |
Answer: | I believe the total length of the pole is 18 inches. But when mounted. The clearance is 12 inches from the wall |
Question: | does it come with mounting hardware |
Answer: | If you look closely at the item, it comes pre-attached with a "mount" that has four holes in the corners. They do NOT include bolts or screws, and likely because each person's mounting location/surface may be very different than another's. And you'll want to buy screws or bolts that fit your needs, especially making sure you don't use screws that are so long that they come out the other end of whatever you're mounting surface may be (such as eaves of a roof, etc.) I had no problems whatsoever. |
Question: | what is the internal diameter at the open end? Thanks |
Answer: | 1-7/8" ID, 2" OD |
Question: | How many is this price for |
Answer: | OMG! what a rip off! You can get pole, dish, and lnb for that price! |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the bolt hole pattern |
Answer: | The 4 corner holes are 1/2" from the edges. The long direction (parallel to the pole) are 7 3/4" on center. The short direction is 5" on center. There are two more holes that run down the middle. One of them is a hole like the corners and is 1 1/2" from the end. The other is a slot that is 5-3/4 " from the first one and is also 1 1/2" from the end in the middle. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Is the plug in the end of the mount pole (center photo) removable, I need to slide another pole inside of this one |
Answer: | Hi, this nor plug into another pole from Directv, all Directv mast and pole are 2'' diameter, you will need to buy something smaller to fit inside a Directv wast or pole. Thanks Dreams on Big |
Question: | Is the pole diameter id or od |
Answer: | OD |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have 2 tvs i want to split. one has a direct tv cable box with p121r3-16 swim the other has no cable box. how can i split the 2 tv signals |
Answer: | It has a hard time with just one. No alt. to suggest. |
Question: | Can this be used for internet connection split |
Answer: | Frankly, it doesn't work too well in transmitting digital information. I tried to use it with a Tivo and it was terrible. A fax may be better, but I doubt it. |
Question: | Is this a coax splitter |
Answer: | No, to receive the signal, the the transmitter and receiver of the Phonex PX211-D Easy Jack 2 definitely DOES NOT have to be in the same room. My transmitter and receiver are in two different rooms. The units are separated by approximately 25 feet and a dividing wall, and the system works perfectly. My home is a ranch-type, single floor structure, so I've never tested the system with the transmitter and receiver on different floors. However, judging by how well the system works in my application, I SUSPECT that it would also work with the transmitter and receiver on different floors, but performance might be negatively affected by long straight-line distances between the transmitter and receiver and any metal barriers that might be present in the intervening walls/floors. I recommend that you verify my suspicion with the manufacturer by either calling them at (801) 566-0100 or checking with their website, www.readynetsolutions.com. |
Question: | i have an amplied ant 12v dc via a distribution box that connects to the ant. do i plug this into the "out" (pp) & ant back into the "in |
Answer: | It is represented as working with digital signals only. I never tried it with voice signals. (Also it seldom worked with digital signals, either.) |
