User questions & answers
Question: | Will this clamp work with the fluke T5 series meters to extend the built in current metering capabilities |
Answer: | I do not feel that this clamp will work with your T5 Series meter. The i400 is capable of measuring 400 amps. The T5 "notch" is good for 100 amps tops. So this may cause accuracy errors as well as potential damage to the T5. As well I see that the test lead connector on the T5 is not the same as most of the test meters that can use the i400. Probably just to ensure that only certain accessories will work with the T5. Check with Fluke as always, but don't spend money on something unless Fluke says it's O.K. |
Question: | ideal 61-361 multimeter used to offer a a/c d/c jawclamp extra option, now discontinued, does anyone use this with other true rms multimeters other than flukes , it looks like the plugs are fixed to a certain width |
Answer: | It will work with meters like that yes as long as they have a Mv range and proper banana plug jacks it works, the whole point is the meter knows no difference between this and test leads, as long as you can handle ignoring the reading showing mv you’re set. People aren’t very bright unfortunately |
Question: | Does it work with Fluke |
Answer: | Yes. You connect the black lead to common and red lead to the righthand (volts/ohms) jack then you read current using the V or mV modes or frequency using AC voltage. The 114/115/117 user manual explains this in the section "Measuring Current Above 10 Amps". |
Question: | Will this work with the fluke 87V |
Answer: | I am pretty sure it will read with any fluke that has amp reading capability . It worked on my 117 . And on my other fluke at work . Newer but at work and I don't remember the model number. |
