Answer:	I do not see why that particular connection would not work. I suppose it would depend on what you plan to do. If you want to transfer files from an iPad or an iPhone, you will need a cable with two male Thunderbolt ends. Otherwise, you may need a thunderbolt adapter to plug into the iPad/iPhone that converts to a female USB connector. Then, you could use a typical iPhone or iPad cable. I have used the adapter to projector from an iPad through a Mac Mini that was connected to the projector, when I did not have a mini-display adapter.

You need this adapter (Thunderbolt 3 (Usb-C) To Thunderbolt 2 Adapter) and an Apple Thunderbolt 2 Cable (0.5 meter or 2.0 meter). You can probably use off-brand cables too but I haven't tried that.

Question:	Can I use an external mic that is 3.5 jack compatible? Or is this output only for headphones
Answer:	It is for the whole base. The problem I had it ships in 2 boxes and they kept sending only one box after about 4 times I had a complete stand. When I received mine (they give you 1 bolt to put together), I redrilled the hole and drilled another one for 5/16" and used grade 8bolt w/lock nut.

Answer:	No problem at all.Projector needs to have HDMI port interface other wise good at least 2 bar LTE to telco provider. Will need to buffer up for a bit. The more memory in the phone the better.You can use it as a test signal for projectors often. And I never have any issues transmitting anything on my screen. IDMB sends the video to your projector and displays transport controls on your iPhone/iPad.
