One hint: check for squareness of the assembly by closing the stairs and seeing if the door cover (presumed to be a rectangle) lines up.

The metal device on the attic door you hook onto to open it fit into a hole in the attic door that was already there ( if not it will be necessary to drill one) and was attached with a provided nut. Answer: This is all you need to clean/repair CD's with minor scratches. No machine. Just make sure to use a clean SOFT cloth to wipe off the scratch repair and another clean soft cloth for the polishing agent. Worked fine for me on several CD's that were very dirty and scratched.

Answer: Shake the repairing fluid well. Place one drop on or near the scratched surface. Using the micro fiber pad, wipe the disc from the center to the outer edge of the disc. This should be done on other areas of the disc that are scratched just don't use too much of the fluid. Both sides of the wiping pad may be used. Next, apply 1 to 2 sprays of the cleaning/polishing fluid onto the disc. Wipe the disc with the pad from the center of the disc to the outer edge until dry. Done. Works great.

Answer: In reguards to the Maxell CD-340, I bought for my cars CD player but have used in a few different things, Xbox, PC ect. It does infact have instructions, very simple, but they are audio. Track 1 tells you to go to Track 2 for about 30 seconds. (Or something like that)The way it works is it literally just spins the disc over the lens, so as long as you hear it spinning it's helping. By switching Tracks it moving the Lens up and down letting the brushes clean the whole LensThe CD cleaner Disc should be readable in any CD/DVD player so if you are not getting any audio just try it a few times. Let the disc spin up and try to play. After a few times, if there is still just an Error, play other discs to see if it help. I had to do something similar when a buddys Original Xbox quit reading games, even brand new ones. after about 8 attemps to get it to read(which it did just fine on mine) if finally started reading the CD.

Answer: prior to selecting this cleaning disc, I read a number of reviews and for what my needs were this on seemed the best selection.
