Answer:	Hey Lou, You actually need a "dual link" DVI to get a resolution higher than 1920 x 1200. Don't confuse that statement with two DVI connectors. A "dual link" DVI has SIX extra pins in the middle of the connector interface. If you have a dual link, it will support 2560 x 1600 body. The other issue is whether your HDMI is 1.4 that supports what is called "Deep Color," or 36-bit/px. Then you have to ensure your output hardware can support that resolution.Also keep on the lookout for an "active" cable, they cost about $120 that will get you to a higher resolution. Provided that the hardware you're using for your output is fairly recently made, like within a couple of years or so, there shouldn't be an issue with the conversion. Answer:	Agreed, it should work, and in theory it would have no signal loss. But don't go fiddling with the connectors too much or you might break them. I've broken many an adapter doing this sort of daisy chaining.

Answer:	This depends on the device you are sending/receiving from. I’ve seen nvidia video cards that can enable audio out on a DVI port. For HDMI, the audio is actually digital data that’s sent between each video frame, it doesn’t have extra pins/conductors for audio.

Answer:	I just did some testing with a few different settings and I wasn't able to make it behave the way you describe. It sounds like what you would expect to see if one or more of the pins in the DVI connection aren't making a connection. I would probably first try to rule out your source device as a problem by connecting the HDMI to a TV or something that has an HDMI input. Maybe it would be best to try that with the same HDMI cable that you're trying to use with the DVI adapter so that you can rule out a bad cable too. That will likely look fine, but if not then you know that there's a problem with the HDMI port on your source device or the cable. It would be great if you had a device with a DVI output that you could use to test the DVI input of your monitor, but I know that's not very likely. By the way, this works well for computers because they can adjust their resolution settings to match the monitor. I don't know how well it would work if you connect a device that's not a computer to a monitor that has something other than 16x9 or 4x3 aspect ratio.

Answer:	A DVI-I connector can read either Digital or analog signals but since the other end is an HDMI connection, the only output will be digital. So if you are trying to use it to read from an older DVI analong video source, you won't have much luck. Also if you are trying to take a HDMI output to a DVI input, the results may or may not work. It would totally depend on the pieces of equipmet you are using.

Answer:	Video card max resolution: 2560x1600 Monitor max resolution: 3840x2160 Connected with this cable: 1920x1080 (1080p) is the highest resolution that looks decent, and it's a bit blurry. Options for higher resolutions are given, but they look terrible and are unusable. Conclusion: Despite the presence of the center pins in the DVI connnector, this is a single-link cable NOT SUITABLE FOR 4K MONITORS or anything above standard HD.
