Question:	I don't know much about cables to speakers, but do these work well with the sony ss-cs5 speakers
Answer:	The 2709B has a 66 Megohm resistance measuring capacity in its top end ohmmeter function. Other types of megohmmeters, sometimes known as "Meggers" include the ability to put high levels of DC stress voltages (500V, 1000V, etc) on the load (such as large transformers, inductors, Power Factor Capacitors, etc.) while also indicating resistance in Megohms. Clearly, the 2709B, while being able to measure simple resistances, cannot substitute for these. The 2709B only has a 9V battery inside, and is not intended to generate the high DC stress voltages that a "Megger" can. That said, it is still a wonderful instrument for its intended purpose. "Meggers" are a highly industrial instrument usually used in High Power Distribution systems, a different world entirely than that of Low Voltage Electronics Troubleshooting.
Question:	Will this become prime shipping anytime soon
Answer:	Yes. For the lower current fuse, which is the one you most likely may need to replace, search for a: F 500 mA 500V ceramic 6.3 x 32 mm (6 x 32 mm) fuse. The 'F' stands for fast blowing ('flink') and the 'ceramic' indicates it has a ceramic body that will not grenade under extreme overload. In a pinch you can use an 'FF' ceramic fuse, where FF stands for very fast blowing ('flink flink'). Over time, however, an FF fuse may blow at high currents when it does not need to. I have tripled checked the fuse data against what is printed on the meter and against the spare fuses packed with two different meters, made roughly a year apart.
Question:	Are the banana plugs able to be remove from one side if necessary
Answer:	It should be. The "Auto Power Off" section on page 9 of my manual explains how. Basically, you press and hold any button but HOLD, and then turn on the meter.

Answer:	It depends on what you are measuring. Capacitance can be less frequent. Otherwise, the meter sends a measurement anywhere from roughly once per second (for frequency) to three times per second (for continuity) – to the USB port. The meter can stop transmitting if it is frantically auto-ranging; otherwise, if the meter shows a value, it will send it. In case you are curious, I project a fresh alkaline battery should be good for 300–350 hours of measurements. I discovered a tolerable few things about the 390A, while writing a Python utility to log its values under OSX, Windows and Linux. It is a nice meter.

Answer:	Each cable has two wires encased in one sleeve with two connectors on each end, one for + (red) and one for - (black). The connector terminals on any recently manufactured speakers should be coded red and black as well. If the speaker terminal is circular with a hole in the middle, make sure the terminal is fully closed by turning clockwise and insert the Mediabridge plug into the terminal hole. You need one Mediabridge cable for each speaker.

Answer:	Yes, I removed the banana clips from one end to be able to connect the bare speaker wires to my older Bose speakers. I did use a wire tool to remove the covering. It worked very well and I’m pleased with the results.

Question:	im trying to make my own test leads for different applications, will these work/fit with a voltmeter
Answer:	Depends. It should fit as the multimeters use standard banana plug socket innerds, but for years commercial test leads have no longer used bare plugs because of the hazards associated with accidental contact which would be shockingly dangerous if working with high voltage (yes, these meters are routinely used in high voltage electrical applications - my meter carries a CAT III rating for use with 1000V, CAT IV for 600 V). BUT, I mainly use my meter on ham radio stuff and sometimes on cars - all low voltage DC applications.I just ordered these to make a current (amperage) test rig with Anderson Power Pole sockets. Again, I stress that I am working with voltage running significantly less than 30V (sometimes 24 V systems in aviation or other automotive systems), but I will wrap the plug bodies in heat shrink insulation to minimize likelihood of contact.

Answer:	I use 12 gauge on my fronts and 14 on my surrounds with no issues. The 12 gauge was a little difficult to get wrapped back around and then screw down, but I really don't know of any banana plug that would we easier, without going to the kind where they use a screw to fasten. This is the easier, cleaner look in my opinion!

Answer:	As PCKIDZ replied, this is a two function connector.The banana plugs are pushed into the hole in the end.If you unscrew the barrel which is knurled, the smaller shaft is exposed, where you can slip on your spade lug and then tighten the knurled shaft to secure the lug.

Answer:	"Open Screw" type plug (side wire) allows for daisy chaining or stacking additional banana plugs to the back. This is desirable in DJ applications if you're running a speakers in parallel and if your amp can handle the low impedances. Closed Screw type has the wire at the back.
