Answer:	Is your DVD player very old? That could be the problem with the video conversion since your projector obviously is newer with a HDMI input jack. I know for instance that I could plug my VHS machine into the rear of an older receiver and feed the HDMI out to an older HDTV. However I can't do that with the new 4K HDTV sets, giving me a black picture, my having to by-pass the video-in on the receiver and use the converter's HDMI input jack instead with a receiver that uses HDMI jacks that carry audio and video. For instance, much older Onkyo receivers had HDMI inputs but for audio only, no pass through for the video switching.

Audio for us comes from a mixer to create DVD's, so I haven't tried the audio connection yet. Looks good on the monitor so I would say it should work for your purpose.

Answer:	I needed it to copy a DVD from a DVD player that only outputs in HDMI to a DVD recorder that takes S-Video input (not HDMI), and that worked just fine. I don't believe it manipulates the input video content otherwise in the conversion (same aspect ratio, resolution, frame rate etc.)

Answer:	If your TV still has a working S-Video/Y/R/W port on it then technically yes, but realize that your video will be downgraded from its 1080p (or 4k, if you have the new one and a 4k TV) native signal to a 480p Composite signal. The item's title is very confusing because it throws in "Upscaler Support" at the end, but once the signal has passed to S-Video/RCA cables no higher signal can be carried than 480p. Leaving any further video correction up to your TV.

Answer:	The resolution will be displayed on the TV screen, both input and output. On mine, if the TV does not support an output from the box, it will go black, recover, then go black again. Keep switching outputs until you get a decent picture or the output you want . Best to go with the native resolution for the TV. This has worked perfect for a 15 year old Sony TV that was stored away because late model cable boxes did not support the component connections.
