Answer: The Tall-Ette fits over a standard toilet and is adjustable several inches either way. My Dad is 5/8" and the toilet in his assisted living facility was a little bit low for him. This adds a few inches to the toilet so that he does not have to use so much arm strength to get back up. It has been a very durable and sturdy product. After a couple of months' use, we are still very happy with the purchase.

Answer: Don't know the exact dementions, but I would say about the same as average toilet seat.
Question: What is the greatest distance at which you have seen the VFL
Answer: Not sure of elevation since don't have anymore but it was very comfortable to sit on (does not require additional toilet seat). This was great because it could go on top of existing toilet seat and I didn't have to remove the current seat to install this one. Easy install.
Question: I noticed on the vfl there are threads can you put an fc-etc.. adapter on it
Answer: To Install: 1. The existing toilet seat and lid can either be removed or flipped up depending on user preference. 2. Turn the knob (marked A) counterclockwise and completely loosen the clamp (marked B) on the front of the elevated seat. This will place the clamp in its longest adjustment. 3. Position the rear wedge (marked C) under the rear rim of the toilet bowl. Note: The elevated seat MUST be inside the toilet bowl. The rear wedge MUST be positioned under the rear lip of the toilet bowl. 4. After the elevated seat is properly placed into the toilet and the clamp is engaged with the front of the bowl, turn the knob clockwise until the seat is securely fastened. DO NOT use tools. Hand-tighten only. DO NOT overtighten knob. Check the seat for proper installation and re-align/re-tighten if necessary.

Answer: I don't think so. My front has never come off went getting up. Your father is using the front to get up. He needs support to get up.

Answer: This one pictured here does have one bolt going through from your original seat down through the elevated seat and on through to the toilet. However be careful, while the idea is a good one, the one I received had the plastic bolts broken off when it arrived. I sent it back and found one at a medical supply company for less.
