User questions & answers
Question: | for a cb radioโs with no swr adjustment knob does this need to be hooked up at all times since you have to use this meters own swr calibration knob |
Answer: | I'm pretty sure it does. I don't have any bands to test with though. |
Question: | Does it work on 3-30mhz bands |
Answer: | Their PL259 connectors on both ends to fit the meter and antenna... |
Question: | Can i use the p1-259 connectors for the antenna part of the swr meter? even though it comes with the so-239? can they be two different sizes? is that |
Answer: | Field strength is the strength of the electric field (units of volts/meter) (or of the magnetic field) radiated by the radio and antenna combination. You are quite right: a calibrated antenna and receiver/meter are needed. Field strength depends on polarization and configuration of the antenna and its ground plane and on the location and orientation of the detector antenna. If the impedances of the antenna cable and antenna are not matched, then some of the signal is radiated, but some reflects back and forth between the radio and the antenna. this builds up energy in the cable that is partly radiated and partly absorbed by the radio power output transistors, which can damage the radio if the standing wave ratio is too high. How high depends on the design of the radio. SWR > 1.5 is generally bad. SWR of 1 is perfect (all the signal power goes out the antenna with none reflected. 1.1 is good, 1.2 is less good. So the SWR meter is connected between the radio and the antenna where is can observe the outgoing and reflected signals in the cable. Perhaps the FS scale is simply making assumptions about the antenna and ground plane to estimate what the field strength would be if the assumptions were correct. But it doesn't measure the field. |
Question: | The add states that this unit will check SWR/POWER/FIELD STRENGTH, but the directions don't mention Field Strength readings. I believe you would need a antenna on the meter to do that. The dial has a FS scale but no antenna. Anybody have any input on this subject |
Answer: | You might end up losing signal together when the connector falls off like mine did. The connector was not soldered and easily fell off when connecting to my antenna. Look to someone else and not MPD cables. RG-8U/RG-213 is probably overkill for CB frequencies. It is useful for hams in the VHF/UHF range. I suggest good quality RG-8X for your application; more flexible and will save you money. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How many watts are these rated for |
Answer: | I would order directly from baofeng's web site. To get the proper cable. |
Question: | Works with SO239 Connectors |
Answer: | This one worked (briefly) for me whereas the cheap one didn't. I eventually successfully programmed my UV-5R after finding and downloading the correct drivers. (The Miklor site is incorrect/misleading regarding drivers for XP.) However, a few weeks later I tried to upload a change to my radio and got the dreaded "radio didn't respond" error message. I had changed nothing on my computer or radio or cable. Much sleuthing ensued. Drivers seemed ok. Windows told me "device is working properly." All to no avail. I have tried everything. I have an electrical engineering degree and have been messing with computers since 1964. I am at a dead end. If you're going to attempt to program a Baofeng radio using Chirp software and this cable, or any cable, please prepare yourself for a long, frustrating and perhaps ultimately unsuccessful enterprise. This is a terribly buggy and unreliable system. |
Question: | Is this cable 50 ohm or 75 ohm? Thank you |
Answer: | I do not believe LMR-400 is flexible enough for a 5" choke. I had some difficulty getting it through the wall of my "ham shack/office" where I needed to bend it to about a 8-10" radius. Having said that, I used this cable temporarily with a homemade J-Pole, and used RG-8/U for the coil. This worked well until I replaced the antenna. |
Question: | Is this really for ham use (50 ohm) or is it for CB use (traditional 75ohm |
Answer: | Sure, any of our coax applications can be used in conduit. I guess the real question would be why spend the extra funds for Ultra Flex and make it non-flexible? This listing for standard LMR-400 will work perfectly in that application. We also have Direct Burial should you need that application. Thanks, Ray N1MPD |

User questions & answers
Question: | Tried turning screw back and forth for about 1 hr and still couldnt get SWR out of the red. Followed directions as well |
Answer: | What screw were you turning? I assume it was a tuning adjustment on the antenna. Start with the swr meter. If you are using the little meter shown with your question (swr2 if I remember right) be sure to use the meter on the right for swr. Set fwd/rev switch to forward, adjust knob so meter reads on the last line on the far right. Then move switch to Rev and read the swr on the right meter (the left is for power). I use a magnet mount antenna and I installed a lighter plug on the unit's power wires so I can move the radio from car to car. If that is what you have try a ground wire from the radio's chassis to a small clip that you clamp on metal around the dash. Use an ohm meter to check the coax for opens or shorts. First read the center of the plug to the tip of your antenna (should be 2 to 3 ohms). Then check from the center of the plug to the metal body of the plug (should be zero). Try your radio and meter on a friends antenna. try another swr meter. I have a base loaded mag mount antenna and it needed the whip moved out as far as i could take it to make 1.2 to 1 swr on channel 19. Use channel 1 and 40 when taking readings. they are next to each other which means you don't have to go around the dial over and over. Check ch. one then go to 40 and check it. If the swr is lower make the whip shorter. If the swr is higher the whip needs to be longer. When you key down to take a reading keep it short. After a couple of checks wait two minutes before making another reading. This is called duty cycle --- a high swr and long key down times WILL burn out the finals in the radio. Good luck ... Mark |
Question: | When I tune my CB/antenna with this meter will it help my new CB get better reception |
Answer: | No, the swr measurement is for the transmit function of a radio and it's antenna. So you'll "get out" better and clearer after tuning with this meter. Tuning the antenna with this meter can keep the radio internals from being damaged while transmitting. |
Question: | what is the little antenna on the side of the meter for? No mention of it in the instructions |
Answer: | For Field Strength testing |
Question: | how do you use the meter, the instructions don't help. please help me |
Answer: | The left side meter is adjusted first, after connecting both ends. You turn the knob till it reads zero. The right side is sdjusted to the lowest level, and the antenna is loosened and adjusted, so the right side meter is at. it's lowest level reading. Tighten the antenna at that position, and you. will have the best adjustment. You can go to the manufacturers web site and download a copy of the manual. |

Answer: | Hello Joshua, Thank you for your email. We are very pleased to hear that you are interested in our Black Seed oil! To answer your question(s), our Premium Cold-Pressed Black Cumin Seed oil is pressed from Nigella Sativa seeds that are grown in Turkey. This Black Seed oil generally has a strong taste and the highest level of Thymoquinone on the market (minimum 0.95% up to 2.5% TQ). Thymoquinone(TQ) is the naturally occurring active ingredient found only in Black Cumin Seed oil and has been studied for most of the oil's health benefits. We do not add nor take away anything from the oil. We only cold press the black seeds here in the U.S. once they arrive and put the oil in bottles and softgels. The Egyptian Black seeds (also 100% black cumin seed oil) are sourced and grown in Egypt instead of Turkey. These seeds tend to have a lower TQ content which is why our โPremium Black Seed oilโ is more preferred by individuals and health care practitioners for therapeutic purposes. Egyptian Black Cumin Seed oil is milder in taste and has about 1/3 less amount of Thymoquinone (minimum of 0.60 TQ). Both oil types have around 55% Omega 6 and 23% Omega 9% though. Some people prefer the more "mild tasting" Egyptian black seed oil when taking it orally daily because sometimes we do get very high levels of TQ of the Premium, as each lot/batch will always vary in taste and color seeing it is 100% pure and natural. When the levels of TQ are higher, at times it tends to be too strong of a taste for some to take orally daily, so they prefer to stick with our more mild tasting Egyptian and never have to worry about it being too strong for them to take daily. For digestive and general overall health, either oil would be good, but for issues such as immune system support or inflammatory response, the Premium Black Seed oil that has a higher TQ content would be suggested. Our suggested dosage amount is just our general suggested use, not saying that it is the exact amount everyone should use always. Some people use more and less depending upon their condition, age, and/or the advice of a licensed health care physician. We are currently unaware of side effects but and for adults we suggest only taking our Black Seed with food and use anywhere between ยฝ teaspoon to 1 teaspoon twice a day. We also suggest you start with a half a teaspoon per day and gradually build up to the two teaspoons over a period of 1-2 weeks to allow the body to get used of the oil. You can continue with the two teaspoons for as long as you need it or many people will reduce the dosage amount after two to three months to a maintenance dosage of half teaspoon, twice daily after this point. Note* Black Seed oil is a dietary supplement and the dosage amounts are anecdotal and results may vary from person to person. It is our responsibility to advise customers that if they have a serious medical condition, they should seek the advice of a licensed medical professional. We hope this answers your question(s). If we can be of any further assistance in the meantime, please do not hesitate to let us know. have a great day, Lina, customer care |
Question: | What color is it white or grey |
Answer: | Nothing buy the less expensive one. May come from different seller. |
Question: | Has it been used for ham radio |
Answer: | I couldn't really speak to this if the dosage strength is the same the company should come forward to address this question. |

Question: | Are the ends crumped on or can the be removed and reattached to desired length |
Answer: | The ends are crimped. I would not remove them. If you need a smaller length you can order just about any length Fromm DX engineering. This is a very high quality coax |
Question: | How long is this cable? n connectors? im confused description says 259 and 10 feet, anwers here says n connector and 3 feet. which is it om |
Answer: | The conflicting answers you get is because you can choose what length and connector you want. Click the arrow on the drop down box .All the choices will appear. Find the connector and length you want, click on it. Then you can add to cart. Be aware some line items describe the connector as" PL259", some as "UHF Male". These are all exactly the same connector. The line items that only list the cable type MILSPEC Mil -C17,all seem to also be PL259s when the full description pops up. I only see one line item that had an N connector. ... N Male on one end and a UHF FEMALE (SO239 )on the other end. |
Question: | Will this work on cb radio |
Answer: | as long as you have the correct fittings it will work |
Question: | Is this rg 58 or rg 58u it says both at the top |
Answer: | While either will do for most broadcast purposes, the RG58 has a much higher loss rate and is therefore unsuitable for scanner use where the intended run length exceeds about 3 meters. RG-58U has much less signal loss from antenna to receiver. But you are correct, with anything other than a scanner, the difference is negligible. Thank you for responding. |

Sometimes you Really need our Times LMR Cable Assemblies
Using a RG-58 jumper for a 5 GHz WiFi Antenna will reduce your signal by around 1 DB per Foot. RG-8x is a bit better and RG-213 is specified for some very short runs by a few manufacturers but Times Microwave LMR cables were designed for high frequency communication and will work best.
For GPS, Cellular or SatPhone Services
RG cable was designed for use at UHF and lower frequencies. Using an RG- jumper of any type on a Satellite Phone or GPS Antenna is like mounting bicycle tires on a sports car. RG cables fair little better for Cell Antennas. Cellular phones lowest broadcast signal is twice as high as RG coax is rated and ranges up to 4 times the specified frequency ratings.

Question: | Will it work with a Wi-Fi modem |
Answer: | This product is not waterproof for the whole machine. The lens and snake cable are IP67 waterproof. Generally, it should not last more than 30min at a water depth of 1m. Besides, the display can be simply waterproofed, such as being wet by rain, water sprinkled on it, etc., just wipe it in time Dry, you can continue to use it normally. Please be careful not to immerse the display in the water, so that the water will enter the inside along the charging port and damage the machine. |
Question: | Why is this listed as โlow lossโ? RG58 is high loss |
Answer: | Hi, this endoscope come with a micro-usb cable, adapter is not included, you can plug it into a 5V/2A wall charger to recharge it |
