Answer:	527s are a pain to put a scope on. The Mauser bolt handle throw isn't scope friendly so the best you can hope for is med size rings without a bolt handle modification. Then there's the rear getting in the way making you push your optic back to clear it. I know med size will clear a 40mm objective but your Hawks diopter end is pretty big so the bolt handle is going to be close. Hope this helps, don't feel bad if you end up with some extra rings.

Answer:	I had a Bushnell Elite 3-9x40 on mine, which fit fine. I wouldn't try any bigger,though. Also, that scope didn't have an adjustable objective, which increases diameter. It might not have fit with the thicker adjustable objective (but it might have, but it would've been real close).
