Answer:	Yes, it would definitely damage your floor. How do I know? I placed it in my computer room that was just recently fitted with new hardwood floors and much to my dismay when I lifted it there were literally hundreds and hundreds of little indentations. Do not, I repeat, do not place this on a hard wood floor! It has since been moved to my back porch which is covered in blue stone. The product is excellent, the buyer stupid.

Answer:	It is smaller ... it is 35 inches by 46 inches .... it fits nicely in front of my 36 inch front door ... most mats are only two feet by three feet .. I am pleased with the size, quality and pricing of this item.
