Answer:	They could be, in the sense that you could dance socially in stocking feet if you wanted to; but they are a practice shoe and not specifically meant to be worn at a social.

Answer:	These are women's sizes and are pretty close to the shoe size you would take in a regular shoe....ps.....these are great shoes with elastic on top and on the sides. They are extremely comfortable. I recommend you do not buy other Bloch jazz shoe styles- buy only this one- because the sole on this one extends all the way to the front tip of the shoe. On some other Bloch jazz shoe styles the front bottom has gathered material, not a smooth sole.

Answer:	For these shoes, you have to search for the shoe size, it's not all in one listing. It was really annoying to have to search and find the right size that way. I wish they had it all on one listing with a pull down menu for Al the sizes, like other clothing items on Amazon.
