My name is Aviva and I am the jewelry designer for Stera Jewelry. My husband and I founded a small jewelry business 25 years ago - Stera the Art of Jewelry. We design and create all of our jewelry in our studio with the help of a small, dedicated team. Every jewelry piece is created from the finest materials with great care, exceptional attention to detail and strict quality control. Any parts not made directly in our workshop such as chains and clasps are imported from Italy and Germany.

What is Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled is an economical alternative to solid gold. By law, it has 1/20th (or 5%) by weight layer of 14 karat gold permanently bonded over a core of base metal. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. Do not mistake Gold-Filled jewelry for plated jewelry as there is no comparison. Gold-filled jewelry is fine jewelry that is in fact fifteen times as thick as plated jewelry and can therefore be worn on a daily basis.

Caring for your jewelry

Sterling Silver tends to tarnish with exposure to air, perfumes, body lotions, deodorants, hair sprays or other beauty products.
