They are comfortable with multi-hour use; sometimes a new pair can seem a bit large when first worn (hurting my ear a bit, but I have small ears). If this happens, I just pull them out a bit and all is well. And they do stay in all night if you insert them according to the directions on the package (pull ear up and back, roll the plug tightly and insert). I don't know what I'd do without these, they are a lifesaver as far as my sleep!

A lot of reviewers with nickel allergies found they didn’t have a reaction, however other reviewers did. It may depend on how allergic you are. Maybe try sizing down and then gradually gauge up to your desired size. Use neosporin when gauging to heal your inner lobe and do not rush the process.
