It has a lot of compartments and 1 secret compartment on the back that you could put your wallet, hand gun, or anything you wouldn’t want anyone to have “easy access” to. I was worried that it was going to be too small or too big, but I can say I’m happy it’s a perfect medium sized bag. I’ve gotten compliments on it and I highly suggest you buying one. I use he side pockets for bottle water in one side and my cell on the other. It can fit 13” in height of a daily planner, MacBook and clothes!! It’s made well and I think you will like it. Answer:	The Sidewall is ALWAYS there down or up as a porch. The Canvas that covers the wall does not detach from the main canvas canopy. The metal extentions are attached to the rest of the main frame also. So it swings up or down. However you can open a window on it. Hope this helps. We love ours. Husbands using it for a Ham Radio event this week. We have the lighted canopy too. In retrospect we wish we had two of the swing walls and would trade the lighted one for this if it was possible. I put these up by myself a lot. So I made a sandbag for each leg that allows the legs to sit on top of these and helps me to work around letting the legs down. When you have two people it's a lot easier. Another hint on any of these is don't secure the canopy top at the corners until you are ready to extend the legs as it can bind up and you are fighting against yourself to push up the center peak.
