I chose the smaller end of the size scale because I wasn't sure about sizing up so big. So for a 4 year old I would think the small would be a little big. But if she doesn't mind the sole scrunched in her heel the small should be ok. I search Amazon high and low for socks in white and navy. So far these navy have been a good choice for boots and warmth. They haven't stretched out yet or faded after a few wearings. Or pilled. The price might be a little high to "try out."
