Question:	There are gaps around the filter, so air just goes around it instead of through it. Is this normal? I found dirt in the water after just 2 days
Answer:	Hi Fred, no there isn't an outside water level. You have to look into the opening where you fill the water into. Inside you'll see a line to see how much water you need to put in. For us it isn't a big deal to do. Usually we fill it every morning and that seems to work for us. We keep 4 gallons of water on hand each time we fill it so we aren't scrambling to fill them when it's low. On really cold days I'll check the level in the evening to make sure it has enough water overnight. This is the second winter using it and it makes a lot of difference in the air moisture throughout our house which is 1400 square feet. With that being said, we are very happy with it.
Question:	Which side should be facing upwards- the white or black side
Answer:	Filters are no longer packaged in anything. Instead, the company has decided to just ship filters in the shipping box with nothing else. My filters were contaminated upon arrival and I didn’t realize until 13 days later after I could hardly breath. After figuring out it must be the filters I threw them in the garbage, removed the humidifiers from my home, and my breathing went back to normal. I have a lot of experience with this product through the years so I know the filters are getting contaminated during shipping. When I called the company I was told they no longer use any packaging for the filters. They did not seem to care about my health or the health of others. If you value your health you need to find another brand. Reputable companies will seal their filters in plastic wrap. Don’t make the same mistake I did and trust this company. They changed their name from Essick Air to Air Care and use this seller as a front to avoid liability for their extremely negligent business decisions. This has been an absolute nightmare for me and I hope to inform others so as they do not have to go through the same thing or have their health permanently damaged. Proceed at your own risk!

Answer:	Yes...just fired it up for season two. Bought this model mid-winter, last year (2018)....had the same issue with it randomly just kicking in to loud fan noise, yet fan speed was not turned up. In fact, I had shut the unit off over night (did not unplug) and unit turned in randomly by itself and sounded like an airplane landing and then would just go back to normal .....and other times it just cycles off for a few seconds and then turns back on....each one of these instances, plenty of water....I am about over this product.

Answer:	I purchased the replacement filters on Amazon. The filter should be changed at least once a season. If you have hard water you may need to change the filter more often.
Question:	What's the difference between Essick and Bemus 1041 filters
Answer:	2 years on control, motor and cabinet. 1 year factory installed parts/components such as bottles and bottle caps, 30 days on wick and filters. Sales receipt is required as proof of purchase and warranty is included in manual. This is the first season for ours and has worked fine. Occasionally the fan is a bit noisy but only runs a night in a bedroom and has not been objectionable. If you buy one I would recommend ordering an extra wick while your at it. We keep this bedroom around 40% humidity all the time. If you want more than this it might need to run continuously. For the money, seems to be a good buy. Good luck.

Answer:	If the unit is set at under 65% it will turn off when it reaches the set point, and then turn back on when it falls below the set point. If the humidifier is set at 65% it will run continuously and will not shut off.
Question:	Did ANYONE get SIX filters when they ordered this? The description clearly says "Quantity = 6". I only got ONE
Answer:	It's not a trivial procedure. The top "vent" does, in fact, pop off. You can then reach in a clean the fan a bit. If, however, your problem is that the fan is running slower, then the issue is lubrication for the motor. You might try a wee bit of WD40 sprayed onto the axle of the fan rotor. On the other hand, a new unit doesn't cost that much.Good luck.

Question:	What's a good detergent to use
Answer:	If you want a tight fit, order your shirt size. I normally wear a medium size shirt so I ordered both a medium and a large. The medium is almost too tight and the large is almost too loose. I prefer the medium for it's no nonsense compression and the large is good for less physically active situations. I'm 6' 165lbs with a 33" waist. The medium takes me to a 30" waist and the large takes me to a 32" waist. Hope that helps.

Answer:	Hey Amanda, I would definitely go with the larger. I'm about 175 and wear a 10 size jeans and I bought a large. The large fits we comfortably, I couldn't imagine trying to squeeze into a medium. Remember you want to be comfortable in it and not struggle to get it on and off. In my opinion, go with the large. I would actually look into an XL if I were you. If it doesn't fit you can always exchange.
