Answer:	You select the location. It's only partly decided by your belly button. It's where you want the legs to hit your thigh or knee. Personally, I wear them just below my belly button and they hit slightly below my knees. If I pulled them high above my belly button they'd be at my thighs, but I don't like that look. I imagine relative locations depend on how tall you are. I'm 5'10'. The person wearing them decides how they want to wear them.
