It does not shut off, even if it’s set on zero. I run Gunk carb cleaner in mine but it calls for distilled water I believe.

I have used it with my very cloudy aquamarine and it now sparkles. However, there are mixed reviews on whether you can use it with certain gemstones so google your stone just to be safe. It also cleans silver and gold beautifully.

Answer:	It depends entirely what you are cleaning. If you are just doing common things (jewelry, glasses, etc) then hot water with a few drops of Dawn dish soap works really well. There are also commercial detergents that are made for ultrasonic cleaners. For really greasy/nasty stuff (like carbs, injectors) I use Purple Power, rinse it well, then follow-up with a few minutes of Dawn solution to get the residue off of the part.

Answer:	Specific glasses, yes. You can definitely clean METAL frames in this as long as they do not have scratches, chips, peeling. However, do not clean plastic frames in an ultrasonic cleaner, and it is NEVER recommended to put any lenses into an ultrasonic cleaner because of the coatings and the raw materiel on the edges of the lenses. Any sort of scratches and coatings will be penetrated by the vibration (and cleaner chemicals if you use them) and almost always made worse. Anti-reflectant coatings will be harmed. I always remove lenses before cleaning frames - and I only put metal frames in my ultrasonic. (I run an optical lab)

Question:	Is gemoro sparkle spa item #1780 safe for pearls
Answer:	No it is not safe for pearls. No cleaner is safe for pearls. You can only use a very mild soap and cloth to clean.
Question:	Is there a removeable basket to lift out the cleaned jewelry
Answer:	Yes, there is a white, plastic basket that you can lift out to remove the jewelry.
Question:	Is the tub removable so that it is easy to dump out the liquid contents, or do you risk getting the motor inside wet
Answer:	Sad to say the tub is not removable BUT the electronics are at the top on the lid so as not to have to pour the water near the buttons to empty it. Seems like it is sealed well around where the water does get poured out and so far no issue.
Question:	Mine won’t come on at all. Can you remove bottom to check wiring
Answer:	I don't know the answer, but: 1. Has it worked before? 2. How long have you had it? 3. If you remove the bottom, do you know what you are looking for? 4. Are you qualified to repair it and know that it will be safe to operate? 5. If you should find a frayed or blackened wire, will you absolutely know what caused it so that if you simply re-attach it, it will not spark or catch fire? Your question begets many more questions. It is my opinion that simply removing the bottom will not likely reveal the problem as it could be in the switch or other electronics. A small appliance repair shop may be able to tell you exactly the problem by sight or other equipment that is made to test electrical circuits. Be careful. Be safe. It is not worth injuring yourself, others, or your home for a few dollars, especially if you really not know what you are looking for beyond different colored wires..

Answer:	Dear cusotmer Thank you for your question. It can be used for pearls and opals. Ultrasonic instruments can be used for decontamination of solid surfaces. If it is an electronic product or non-waterproof object, please do not use it. It is recommended to use it with some cleaning agents, the effect will be more obvious. Question:	Why does it mold when I pour it into a jewelry cleaning jar
Answer:	It has worked very well on anything I put in it. Mostly jewelry.
Question:	Does this product also remove tarnish on sterling silver. I make jewelry & need a product that will remove tarnish but is safe for all types of stones
Answer:	Depends on what and how dirty the object you are cleaning is. I use CLR and water for most cleaning. On silver items where patina is desired I use a little Dove. Just water will work on dusty or sticky problems but I would use detergent. Commercial jewelry cleaner I find too harsh for most uses, it strips all patina off of silver and most gold objects.
Question:	My opal has gone cloudy and yellow, will this solution help polish it up
Answer:	It depends on how dirty your stuff is. Used some times, it works fantastic! I put in a couple drops of Dawn and my rings and eyeglasses get sparkling clean!
