I think her caregivers used the fork tine dip to clean silver without ever using the polish. It took some rubbing with polish and cloth but shine came back. As to dishwasher, my mom and I have put silver through dishwasher forever. It keeps it clean and you should not cause what you describe except with hard water. Answer:	Hi, how are you? I actually put a piece of jewelry in the cup, put the lid back on, wait 5 seconds, then gently shake it 5 times. The five time shake also takes five seconds. I then lift my jewelry out, and give it a rinse and pat dry. This 10 second rest and shake rule works faster than just sitting the jewelry in the container and waiting. It has never failed me, and my jewelry comes out sparkly each and every time No matter how tarnished a piece is, I have never needed more than 20 seconds. Question:	I have some fake pearl pierced earrings which hang off a fake black stone. The posts and backing have tarnished. Will this product damage them
Answer:	This solution should not damage the metal. However, some artificial stones do not tolerate silver cleaning solutions very well. I would suggest that you take the cap from a water bottle or juice bottle, and place a bit of this solution in it. You can then put the tip of the post in the solution, without placing the entire earring in it. Once you are done, just quickly rinse with water, and pat dry. No matter what you use this for, it only needs a few seconds to clean jewelry. Don't walk away. If you leave metal too long in the solution, it with start to strip the shine or sheen from the metal. You don't need more that 45 seconds; usually less than that to fully polish your jewelry, and make it look sparkling new.This is a great product. If you are still concerned about damaging your posts, you can put toothpaste on a paper towel, and rub the posts. It does pretty well at removing most tarnish. Hope this helps.

Answer:	For the metal part of the piece, if it is silver, gold (14 k and 18 k) and platinum, use the white cloth. If your piece has porous stones such as opals, pearls, malachite, turquoise, and the like, avoid the stone when using the white cloth. If the white cloth accidentally touches the stone is not going to damage it. To clean this type of gems, use the gray cloth, which is untreated. For other stones known as hard stones, such as amethyst, peridot, citrine, aquamarine, emerald, diamond and sapphire, you can use the white cloth.
Question:	Can you wash this when it's dirty and use it again after?and if so what kind of soap like laundry detergent?and could u wash in the washer Machine if
Answer:	The polishing cloth has the cleaning ingredients impregnated in the white cloth. These ingredients get released every time a piece of jewelry is polished. Washing the cloth will remove the remaining cleaning ingredients, for that reason it shouldn't be washed. Something important to know: The black stains left in the cloth are the tarnish and the contaminants that had been removed from the metal. The polishing cloth keeps cleaning even having the black stains. You can keep using it as long as you see your pieces getting shiny. The gray part of the cloth is untreated and you can wash it any way you wish and keep it to buffer plated pieces of jewelry or soft porous stones (good for eyeglasses and cell phones too!) When the polishing ingredients wear out and the polishing cloth's performance is not as good, then it will be time to replace the cloth. I hope this information is helpful. Answer:	This is not a copper cleaner. I haven’t tried it but like the couple of pieces of copper jewelry I own for their patina which forms with age. Sorry.

Answer:	No, they are like baby wipes, just a lot smaller.
Question:	What will these do if it touches turquoise
Answer:	I used to clean earrings made of silver and turquoise. I didn't rub the turquoise but the little wipe certainly touched the turquoise - not doing so would have been unavoidable due to the close proximity of the stones to the silver. No damage at all.
Question:	How many years will this stay fresh? I don't anticipate going through them quickly
Answer:	I've had y box for at least 3 years. Each one can be used many times. I don't even put it back in the case between uses, and even though dry, it shines gold as well as the first time.
