Answer:	I think so, but I couldn't install my thermometer because the threads weren't deep enough to penetrate the inside of my grill. I bought a hand held temp probe and gauge my temp that way. Good luck.

Answer:	I don't find the mini awkward to hold. It is comfortable both when pointed at the massage area and when held sideways to get a gentler action on the muscles being massaged. I've been quite happy with it.
