Answer:	No, you do not need a smartphone to access most of the features. Most of the features are built into the watch itself, including GPS, altimeter, barometer, sunrise/sunset times, moonphase calendar, digital compass, and more. The smartphone comes in handy if you would like to save a recorded activity and view it on a map, but you can also do this by simply connecting your watch to a computer (the watch comes with a USB cord to do this).

Answer:	Ha, although I like the previous answer, I feel like I should add that it will alert you when a text comes through plus the first several words of the text. Kind of like you phone alert does. So if it is a short text, it will show it all on the watch face. I am also an avid hunter/fisher so I love the features of this watch, but I am also an instructor in the Army and sit through meetings almost all day it seems like. And the alert feature helps a lot with not having my phone on the table vidrating half the meetings and I know when I will need to step out or not.

Suunto was founded in 1936 by outdoors man and a keen orienteering enthusiast, Tuomas Vohlonen, who had long been bothered by a problem: the inaccuracy of traditional dry compasses and their lack of steady needle operation. Question:	what size wrist does the standard black rubber strap fit
Answer:	My wrist is ~8.5", maybe a little more. The Vector band fits my wrist on the last hole. There is not enough band left to fit into the sleeve intended to secure the end of the band. The Core band is about 3/4" longer.

Answer:	I have been researching the Suunto Core All Black to find the best price for purchase. One of the key features needed is an alarm clock, but I could not find any definitive information as to whether it had one or not. Even the Suunto website and manual was not very cut and dry with an answer. I contacted Suunto customer service and asked about this function (pf which they responded in the affirmative), but I also asked the comment made here stating Amazon purchases are not honored via warranty. Suunto stated this is COMPLETELY FALSE! Amazon IS an authorized reseller. You need only keep your receipt. Finally have this issue/question clearly and easily resolved after so many guesses since 2013!

Answer:	The Mosquito appears to be a face-protector. Most of these watched seem to take the CR2032 batteries.

Answer:	Never had the issue. Try reinstalling and make sure its seated properly. You may have to get a new battery at the drug store. If it still happens, find a suunto dealer and have them send it to the manufacturer. They typically replace the whole watch for a nominal fee unless it's still under warranty. God luck

Trying to navigate with a poorly designed or improperly functioning compass can be one of diving's more frustrating events. The SK-8 has set a new standard for dive compasses. The superior SK-8 features an exceptional tilt potential of +/- 30° degrees, which is 2-3 times larger than in conventional diving compasses. Answer:	You might have digital compass in your wrist computer but I would recommend to have liquid type compass (suunto SK7, Scobapro, mares) for the dive. Suunto SK7 Retractable compass is highly recommended and not so easy to find in the local market. I was requested to buy X2 Suunto SK7 by two professional divers.
