User questions & answers

Question: What is the size
Answer: Watch is 40.5mm, with a depth of 14.5 (a little deep, but still able to wear it under a shirt/suit sleeve. Strap is 20mm at the lugs and 18mm at the buckle. Pictures do not do it justice, dial is a lovely "ice blue" . Watch is truly beautiful. I replaced the black strap with a blue alligator strap, which enhances the look of the watch even more. It keeps very accurate time (I keep mine in a winder).
Question: Could someone explain to me how to set the date hand? :) Thank you
Answer: Pull the secondhand out gently and wind once.
Question: Can I switch the leather band to a metal one
Answer: As long as the metal bracelet is 20mm wide, yes. The lugs of the watch (the points at the top and bottom of the watch head that secure the strap) are 20mm wide. Any 20mm strap and/or bracelet should work. You will need to acquire a spring bar tool to do the job yourself or you can go to a jeweler and ask them to change the strap for you. It's usually $5-$10.
Question: What is the difference detween this mode ssa343j1 a s sary081??? they both look like the same watch but different model number
Answer: I️ think the sary 081 is the one sold in Japan. Same watch

Our Heritage

The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21 year old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. Just eleven years later, in 1892, he established the 'Seikosha' factory.

eikosha was founded; started producing wall clocks.

In 1892 Kintaro Hattori bought a disused factory in Tokyo and Seikosha was formed (In Japanese, "Seiko" means "exquisite", "minute" or "success" and "sha" means house). It was here that Kintaro Hattori produced his first clocks and these marked the beginnings of a company that was to become one of the important manufacturers of timepieces.

User questions & answers

Question: Where is the watch made
Answer: The watch is made in Malaysia, not Japan.
Question: Can I change the band to rubber
Answer: Technically any strap/band you find with a 22mm lug width would fit. It doesn’t have to be seiko branded, just 22mm. Also, check out namokiMODS to accessorize your new srpd. Good luck with your new purchase!
Question: What is the warranty on this? Are you a certified seiko dealer
Answer: 3 years in the US 1 year everywhere else
Question: states automatic, yet states analog display....does watch have sweep second hand
Answer: Watch is "Automatic" so it does not have a battery to power the movement. Self winding rotor you can see through the back of the watch, provides the power with the movement of your wrist. It does have a smooth moving second hand. I am happy with this watch and definitely recommend it. Excellent price too.

User questions & answers

Question: Is the case thickness realy 14 millimeters or 12 millimeters
Answer: 14 mm.
Question: How hevey is the watch
Answer: Dear Customer,Thank you for contacting us. The watch weight is 6.56 Ounces, with packaging 12 Ounces. Kind regards,Rosie.-
Question: Water resistant to 200 m (660 ft): In general.....serious surface water sports, but not scuba diving" So is it a dive watch or not
Answer: Water resistant ratings are very misleading because they don't test with *movement* of the watch and, it turns out, that makes a huge difference. Take a 30 meter-rated watch into the shower and it will leak ... you need to go to a 50-meter rating to get more than splash-proof. A 200 meter rating will be resistant to a considerable depth, but nowhere near 200 meters.
Question: is the bracelet solid stainless or are the links hollow like the cheap Seiko 5 watches. I'm trying to decipher if Amazon is a "authorized Seiko" Dlr
Answer: bracelet is solid stainless steel and not hollow. Actually its very durable.I bought this couple of weeks ago and can't take my eyes of it since then. it looks the best on the wrist. I fixed extra links from bracelet my self at home. which was really easy and took me only 5 mins. once its adjusted to your wrist I am sure you won't take it off from your wrist.Buy without any hesitation from Amazon. Also it came with extra 2 years warranty from Amazon on top of standard Seiko warranty.Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question: is it water proof
Answer: It is water resistant to 200m. I am not sure if it is an ISO rated dive watch like it's automatic cousin, the iconic SKX007. It should be no problem. Amazon has it listed wrong. It is not automatic, it is quartz / solar. So a little more accurate than an automatic, but a little less neat factor. A great, water resistant, accurate knock around watch.
Question: What makes this a limited edition and if it is, doe it come with a COA
Answer: It does not come with a COA .
Question: Does it have a screw down crown and can the battery be replaced
Answer: Yes, the Prospex SNE437P1 has a screw down crown. This is a legit ISO 6425 certified diver’s watch. The battery can be replaced, but only by an authorized facility, because if DIY changed with an ordinary silver oxide battery it may generate excessive heat in the V157 caliber, possible resulting in the watch bursting or igniting. However, if the watch is kept in reasonably bright light, it’s solar charging will maintain it’s charge indefinitely. The watch’s power reserve makes it capable of running for up to ten months on a single full charge. Overall, a very impressive and useful tool watch for this modest price point.
Question: Why is this watch listed as being automatic when it is a solar watch? It not only says so on the dial but also corresponds with the model number
Answer: In contemporary usage, the term "automatic" refers to a watch with a mechanical movement whose energy source is a hemisectioned flywheel - AKA "self winding." The Seiko SNE437P1 is a quartz watch powered by a rechargeable battery whose charging energy is a solar panel integrated into the dial face. It is automatic in the sense that you do not need to manually wind it, but anything that characterizes this as an "automatic" watch is misusing current standard terminology.

User questions & answers

Question: How can the watch clasp be adjusted
Answer: It has to be adjusted by a jeweler. The clasp is hidden. You could probably take it to someplace like Fast Fix Jewelry, and it would not take very long.
Question: Can the band be lengthened
Answer: The band is fairly large already. It can be shortened, but to lengthen it would probably require you to send it to to the factory, an expensive proposition at best.
Question: Can you get a replacement band if ever needed
Answer: We do not stock replacement bands or bracelets for any model watch.
Question: Does the dial glow in the dark in any way
Answer: Yes but not real bright
