Here are some key points about Orient dive watches:

  1. Purpose: Orient dive watches are specifically designed for underwater activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling. They are built to withstand the pressure and conditions encountered in aquatic environments.

  2. Water Resistance: One of the defining features of Orient dive watches is their high level of water resistance. These watches are typically rated to withstand depths ranging from 100 meters (approximately 330 feet) to 200 meters (approximately 660 feet) or more. This makes them suitable for recreational diving.

  3. Design: Orient dive watches often feature a robust and rugged design. They may have a larger case size, prominent hour markers, and a unidirectional rotating bezel. The dial is typically clear and easy to read, even in low-light conditions.

  4. Movement: Orient utilizes both automatic and quartz movements in their dive watches. Automatic movements are self-winding and powered by the motion of the wearer's wrist, while quartz movements are battery-powered and known for their accuracy.

  5. Materials: These watches are constructed using high-quality materials, including stainless steel cases and bracelets. The crystal covering the watch face is usually made of scratch-resistant mineral or sapphire glass to ensure durability.

  6. Lume: Orient dive watches often feature luminous paint on the hands, markers, and sometimes the bezel. This allows for easy reading of the time in low-light or underwater conditions.

  7. Bracelets or Straps: Depending on the model, Orient dive watches may come with stainless steel bracelets or durable rubber straps. The choice of bracelet or strap can affect the overall look and feel of the watch.

  8. Popular Models: Some popular models from Orient's dive watch lineup include the Orient Kamasu, Orient Mako, and Orient Ray. These models have garnered positive reviews for their quality and value for money.

  9. Price Range: Orient dive watches are generally considered to be in the mid-range price category. They offer a balance between quality and affordability, making them accessible to a wide range of consumers.

In summary, Orient dive watches are well-regarded timepieces designed for underwater activities. They are known for their water resistance, durability, and quality construction. Orient Men's 'Mako XL' Japanese Automatic Stainless Steel Diving Watch

ORIENT

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Mako XL was created as a response to the community’s request for a larger Mako watch. As the name suggests, the Mako XL is an upsized Mako, measuring 3mm wider (44. 5mm) and a third of a millimeter thicker (13. 3mm). Rather than recreate the popular Mako design on a larger canvas, the design was tweaked, with bar hour markers and a 60-unit scale bezel that was devoid of a lume pip. The spear-shaped hour and minute hands and lollipop seconds hand are also hallmarks of the design. Above all, it maintains the signature diver features, including a unidirectional diver-style bezel, 200m of water resistance, strong lume, and a screwed case back, to name a few.

  • Mineral Crystal
  • 120-Click Unidirectional Bezel
  • Japanese-automatic Movement
  • Case Diameter: 44.5mm
  • Water resistant 200m (660ft): in general, suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not diving

Orient Men's 'Ray II Rubber' Japanese Automatic Stainless Steel Diving Watch, Color:Silver-Toned (Model: FAA02008D9)

ORIENT

Based on 110 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The classic Orient diver has been upgraded in several areas, including the debut of the new Orient caliber F6922 and a more robust 120-Click bezel.

Orient

With its roots dating back to 1901, Orient Watch has specialized in the manufacture and growth of mechanical timepieces. Since 1950, Orient has been at the forefront of the production of mechanical watches in Japan. When it comes to watchmaking, Orient does not have an obscure history: Orient has been producing mechanical watches for more than 60 years. It is one of the top three watch manufacturers from Japan and produces 2 million watches per year. Frankly, it may be the biggest watch brand you’ve never heard of. All of Orient’s movements are exclusively made in Japan and no iteration in manufacturing is outsourced. The implicit value of possessing an Orient watch is that the only way to enjoy its tremendous quality is through ownership.

Japan

Orient prides itself on the premise that its timepieces are a “watchmaker’s watch”-- a no frills mechanical watch that is robust and trustworthy.

  •
  • Our online reputation suggests that an Orient watch is reliable out of the box. This can be attributed to Orient’s undying dedication to mechanical watches.
  •
  • In the eye of the Quartz Revolution in the 1970s, the other top Japanese brands went on to predominantly manufacture quartz, while Orient remained focused on its mechanical movements. And while Orient does produce quartz watches, all movements are supplied by its parent company.
  •
  • So what’s the difference between quartz and mechanical? Despite the obvious difference in moving parts, the short answer is seen in the smooth sweeping second hand of a mechanical watch versus the choppy tick of a quartz movement.

Mechanical Movement

As an in-house movement producer, Orient joins a short list of watch companies that actually manufacture their movements in-house and exclusively for their own use. In the industry, it is highly uncommon that a company produces their own movements in-house, and by doing so Orient Watch can ensure that the quality of their wristwatches are held to the highest standards— Orient’s watches have often been lauded for their rich styling, dependability, and tremendous value.

Built in the exact image of its predecessor, the Ray II Rubber is Orient's second generation of its iconic flagship diver model. Sporting a near identical aesthetic to the original, there are several changes that may not be so obvious, including Orient's newest movement caliber which is automatic, hand-winding, and hacking (where the seconds hand will stop when the crown is pulled out to its second position). This new movement eliminates the need for a second crown, which was at the two o'clock position on the original model. Additionally, the bezel has been upgraded to be 120-click, allowing greater position and timing.

  • Imported
  • 41mm Case Diameter
  • Mineral crystal
  • Japanese-automatic Movement
  • Water Resistant 200m (660ft): in General, Suitable for Professional Marine Activity and Serious Surface Water Sports, but not Diving

User questions & answers

Question: How is the waterproofness? I need the watch to wear in the ocean (not diving
Answer: Waterproof is one reason I settled on this watch. That and I like the looks. I have not had it in the water yet but I’m a scuba diver and plan on wearing it while I dive this coming March. It is very nice well made watch. It’s rated for up to 600 feet below water.
Question: What do you think of the rubber strap and these rubber straps by orient in general? Are durable? How they hold up? Who prefers these rubber straps
Answer: The Orient strap is the best strap of any dive warch I've ever owned! I've used dive watches since 1991, and this is the best strap. I'm keeping my old orient watch simply becausr the strap is in perfect shape and can be used as a backup for my new Ray 2.
Question: What do you think of the rubber strap and these rubber straps by orient in general? Are durable? How they hold up
Answer: it matches the watch perfectly. It is long. It is not the highest quality of silicone dive watches, but it's functional and it works with the watch.
Question: What do you think of the rubber strap and these rubber straps by orient in general? Are durable? How they hold up? Who prefers these rubber straps
Answer: I bought this specific watch to replace the rubber straps. Straps seems very comfortable and durable.
