13 best casio barometers

Casio barometers are features found in some Casio wristwatches, specifically designed to measure atmospheric pressure. These watches are equipped with barometric sensors that allow wearers to monitor changes in air pressure, which can provide valuable information about upcoming weather conditions and altitude changes. Here's what you should know about Casio barometers:

  1. Atmospheric Pressure Measurement: Casio watches with barometers are capable of measuring atmospheric pressure, often displayed in units like hPa (hectopascals) or inHg (inches of mercury). Atmospheric pressure is the force exerted by the weight of air in the atmosphere and is commonly used in weather forecasting.

  2. Weather Forecasting: The ability to measure atmospheric pressure allows these watches to provide basic weather forecasting features. A sudden drop in atmospheric pressure may indicate an approaching storm, while a rising pressure reading suggests fair weather.

  3. Altitude Measurement: Casio barometer watches can also function as altimeters. They calculate changes in altitude based on atmospheric pressure variations. This feature is useful for hikers, climbers, and outdoor enthusiasts who need to track their elevation during activities.

  4. Data Logging: Some Casio watches with barometers can store historical data, allowing wearers to track changes in atmospheric pressure and altitude over time. This data can be helpful for analyzing trends and planning outdoor activities.

  5. Display: Barometric information is typically displayed on the watch's digital screen. It may include the current atmospheric pressure, altitude, and a graphical representation of pressure changes.

  6. Battery Life: Using barometer and altimeter functions can consume more battery power than simply telling time. Casio watches often have power-saving features to extend battery life.

  7. Water Resistance: Many Casio barometer watches are designed to be water-resistant, making them suitable for outdoor activities in various weather conditions.

  8. Button Controls: Users can access and navigate the barometer and altimeter functions through the watch's button controls, as well as adjust settings and display options.

  9. Design: Casio offers a range of wristwatch designs with barometer and altimeter features, catering to different styles and preferences.

Casio barometer watches are popular among outdoor enthusiasts, including hikers, climbers, campers, and skiers, who rely on accurate altitude and weather information during their adventures. These watches provide a convenient and wearable solution for monitoring atmospheric conditions and elevation changes, making them a valuable tool for outdoor activities and weather forecasting on the go.

Question: does this watch needs battery or work by solar energy only

Question: Is the altimeter accurate

Question: Can the altimeter be set to record cumulative changes in altitude for skiing or cycling
Answer: You are expected to take the watch off for an accurate temp. This is the norm for these type of watches. Your wrist will affect the reading.
Question: Does this watch have a compass
Answer: Casio Computer Company Limited is headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan and yes the Pathfinder Titanium is made in Japan

User questions & answers

Question: Does this watch have vibration for alarm and other signals ? In combination with sound or just by itself
Answer: No, it is fixed. Overall a nice watch, slim (for what it is) and a bit understated. Color on bezel a little darker blue than the pictures.
Question: What is the lug size
Answer: It uses batteries. I had mine for about a year and in December it got a short somewhere in it and I kept changing the batteries and they just died in 24 hours... I loved the watch while I had it
Question: What is the difference in this model vs. prw-3100yb-1jf? Country of origin
Answer: It has to be re-calibrated frequently when there are major elevation changes. It can be off by as much as a few hundred feet after an elevation change of a few thousand feet. I use it when backpacking, and once it's re-calibrated at elevation, it's accurate to within about 20 or so feet. Because it relies on air pressure (barometer) measurements for the altimeter, it also needs minor re-calibration if there are substantial changes in air pressure.
Question: Is the basel movable
Answer: Definitely not. It's very limited in a lot of aspects. It's readings can be inaccurate or not change after you program it. It's not useful, also, if you need the readings quickly since you need to take the watch off and wait awhile for the data, which can be inaccurate. One good aspect of is its price....

User questions & answers

Question: Does the bezel rotate
Answer: I have no idea other than the price being about 110.00 more than it was when I bought it 2 months ago. I love this watch.
Question: Why is this watch now $100 more than it was a month ago
Answer: Casio still makes watches in cheaper pices ranges. The more hi tech they are the more they cost. They are a quality watch and the favorite of military and law enforcement because of their durability.
Question: Is the dial made of usual cheap Casio plastic
Answer: Not sure, I do know that it resets to the second several times a day based on a frequency that's put out by some sort of tower in Fort Collins.
Question: Why is this rated 1 star
Answer: I just ordered mine on 9-7-18. Within 24 hours I received an update that it shipped from Hong Kong with tracking info. So I am wondering, is this a Chinese made knock off , or is this just the international shipping port used?
