Question:	How can this need a battery if its automatic
Answer:	I think that will depend on two things: 1) what are you hiking on - if there is a lot of rock, you might have to calibrate it more often. 2) depends on how accurate you need the compass. I rarely calibrate and it's pretty accurate, but I carry a legit military compass in my bag in case of an emergency or life and death situation. Not sure I'd trust the compass in that scenario.
Question:	I was wondering if the watch is water resistant at all
Answer:	You will find only a few watches actually "made in the USA", and most are in the ~$1000 dollar and up range and nothing like this style. You will find that in general pretty much all watches under $300 are made in China or some other east Asian country, even the ones that say "Swiss made", since by the standards that the watch industry applies, only parts of the movement have to be "made" in Switzerland (meaning they can be made in China or Japan, "tested" in Switzerland, and it's considered "Swiss"), the rest of the watch can be made and assembled anywhere. Brands like Swiss Legend, Invicta, Lucien Piccard, IWC, Akribos, etc., are all Chinese watches now, pretty much, although none of them are designed in China, that I'm aware of. Timex and Casio are no exception, either.
