Answer:	12 TPI is the maximum set. I used it on a handsaw 35 years old and never sharpened. Couldn't cut butter. After sharpen and set cuts like new. Set wasn't far out, however with the attached magnifying glass I could see the slight movement when the anvil touched the teeth.

Answer:	There is nothing stamped on it to reveal where it was made. What is stamped on it is Garrett Wade. I bought one quite a while ago from Japan Woodworker which is now owned by Garrett Wade that I assumed was made in Japan. It has no stamp on the saw saying made in Japan however the scabbard had Japanese writing on it. The new one has nothing written on the scabbard either. I works extremely well comparable to the old one which I still use.

Answer:	You can use without screwing thus product down. I've never screwed mine down. It could be more permanently attached if desired but it definitely doesn't have to be.
