12 best mens chef pants
Men's chef pants are specialized clothing items primarily designed for chefs and culinary professionals. They fall under the category of Clothing, Uniforms, Work Safety, and Men's Clothing Shoes Jewelry. Here's what you should know about men's chef pants:
Purpose: Chef pants are designed to serve multiple purposes in a kitchen or culinary setting. They are primarily worn for hygienic reasons to protect the chef's clothing from spills, stains, and hot liquids. Additionally, they offer comfort and mobility during long hours of cooking.
Fabric: Chef pants are typically made from durable and breathable fabrics that can withstand the rigors of a busy kitchen. Common materials include cotton, polyester, and blends of these fibers. Some chef pants are treated to be stain-resistant.
Style: Chef pants are known for their distinct style. They often feature a traditional checkered or houndstooth pattern, though solid colors are also common. The traditional black and white checkered pattern is a classic choice.
Comfort: Comfort is a key consideration for chef pants. They usually have an elastic or drawstring waistband for a secure and adjustable fit. Some styles include additional features like a zip fly or snap button closure.
Pockets: Chef pants typically have multiple pockets, including side pockets and back pockets. These pockets can be useful for storing small kitchen tools or personal items.
Heat Resistance: In a professional kitchen, chefs work with hot stoves, ovens, and pots. Chef pants are designed to offer some heat resistance and protection against accidental splashes of hot liquids.
Durability: Given the demanding nature of kitchen work, chef pants are built to be durable. Reinforced seams and high-quality stitching are common features to ensure longevity.
Fit: Chef pants come in various fits, including baggy, tapered, and slim. The choice of fit often depends on personal preference and the dress code of the kitchen or restaurant.
Care and Maintenance: Chef pants should be easy to care for since they will inevitably come into contact with food and cooking substances. Many chef pants are machine washable, making them convenient for regular cleaning.
Matching Uniform: Chef pants are part of a chef's uniform, which may also include a chef coat or jacket, apron, and non-slip kitchen shoes. The uniform serves both functional and aesthetic purposes, helping chefs maintain a professional appearance.
When selecting men's chef pants, it's important to consider factors such as the specific requirements of your workplace, your comfort preferences, and any uniform regulations. Many brands offer a range of styles and sizes to accommodate different needs, ensuring that chefs can work comfortably and safely in the kitchen.

User questions & answers
Question: | The pants I'm wearing right now, are a size 44W but when I use the measuring tape, it seems like the pants have 49"W. How do I choose right size |
Answer: | Well... bell bottoms are pants and these are pants. You put 2 legs in the leg holes and your waist goes in the top hole. So ya they are “like bell bottoms.” But they don’t flair out at the bottom of the legs. |
Question: | Is this made in China |
Answer: | "Tall" pants are often NOT hemmed when sold. It is a cost saving measure and allows the purchaser to make a more custom fit. I'm wearing mine right now and have yet to hem them. No one has complained, or even commented. |
Question: | is the closure a rivited metal button or a plastic button sewn on |
Answer: | Yes, they absolutely have a functional nylon zipper, or fly. Thanks! |
Question: | How many pockets do they have |
Answer: | The Short pant has an inseam of 28 1/2" which is approx. 2 1/2" shorter than the Regular Length which has a 31" inseam. Thank you for your question! |

User questions & answers
Question: | How long of an inseam don’t these pants have |
Answer: | Hi Morgan, from what I see on the labels for both, and like you mentioned, you have to take 4 pills with the Women's Vitamin Code verses the 1 pill in the Women's Raw Code, and you get a higher concentration of vitamins in the Women's Vitamin Code. I would probably take this if I exercised really vigorously or had a poor diet because in both cases, the body might need a higher concentration of vitamins. Since I workout moderately, eat a fairly healthy diet, and take other vitamin supplements, I don't need the excess vitamin content that is in the Women's Vitamin Code. Plus that is less pills I have to take. |
Question: | sizing chart |
Answer: | No; the material is too heavy, so I did not find it uncomfortably warm. I really like mine. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What’s the waist size on the XL |
Answer: | If you have more than 1 size 44W pants which fit you now, I'd suggets going one size larger in these. These slacks are less roomy than Wrangler's heavier-duty cargo pants AND these have a shorter waist...if you hike them up to have your belt just above hips, the inseam will be pulled-up right under your bum. If you have great legs, no problem. I much prefer the heavier and more roomy Wrangler Riggs Workwear Cargo Pant, although, for summer these lighter-weight pants under discussion would be better for casual use. The full-size belt loops are a positive thing for me. For any of the Wrangler pants, the "ripstop" models (certain colors only) are superior to the regular cotton fabric. Ripstop liiks and feels better and I believe is more durable. |
Question: | What is the inseam for extra large pants |
Answer: | no its made in Bangladesh |
Question: | In the pack of 3, is it possible to get one on size xxl and the other 2 on xl |
Answer: | Rivited metal button |
Question: | Do you have a height for the sizes |
Answer: | 8 pockets if you include the top openings on the cargo pockets (for cell phones & such) that quickly stash things behind the pockets. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm a size 36x30 what size should I get? And will they be too long |
Answer: | Smaller than you can imagine. This product is a complete failure. Check out chefuniforms.com for a better fitting pair of the same style. I bought a size M and a size L in these pants and I can not recommend them to anyone who is not a 32 waist and longer than 32 inseam. |
Question: | My size is 32×30..What size should I get |
Answer: | These pants are fairly disappointing. I would still suggest xl. One of my colleagues has a 30 inch waist and stands maybe 5’5” and the medium is too small. I like the Chef Uniform Brand a lot better for this style of chef pants. |
Question: | I'm thinking of buying a pair but worried about itch. Anyone been able to fix the problem, like with fabric softener |
Answer: | Well I’m a fat guy with 44 waist but 5’11. I ordered 2XL and they’re too tight after washing although the length was okay. I’d suspect that the length of any size is too short. There are tall options available in this type of pants too - I wound up getting one with 36 inseam and having it re-hemmed. |
Question: | I wear 36×36 jeans what size should i order |
Answer: | I’m just a tad bigger than you and bought XXL and they’re still too tight in the thigh and legs way too long. |
