Old Friend Footwear was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1981. Like our name, our slippers are Old Friends. The prevalent logo of a dog holding up its masters slippers is everywhere at Old Friend Footwear. The dog pictured, a golden retriever named Bo, faithfully accompanied the founder to work every day where she curled up on, what else, her sheepskin rug nestled at his feet. Bo has since departed, but the friendship people have with their pets is not unlike the kinship they share with their slippers. In this spirit, the founder named the company "Old Friend" and made Bo the icon of the brand.
In 2011, the company was centrally relocated to Chanhassen, Minnesota under new ownership. We've carried on the tradition of making quality and workmanship our number one priority. User questions & answers
Question: | Looking for old friend boot. Are they still made by old friend |
Answer: | I can only speak for the pair I bought on close out on Amazon, and the wool is actual sheep hide. I know because I’ve raised sheep for many many years. Regrettably my pair is made in china so I will not buy another unless that changes. Only buy if it says 100% wool, then return if it’s not because that would then be deceptive advertising. |
Question: | Is the old friend made of real shearling |
Answer: | My husband wears a 4E (new balance) and he says they are plenty wife enough for him |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these Fit small |
Answer: | I bought these for a Christmas gift in2018. At that time they were well made by Old Friend. |
Question: | I'm confused by conflicting reviews. Is the lining of these scuffs real sheepskins fur or is it synthetic? I'm looking for something very plush. Thank |
Answer: | Yes it is, but linning is not as thick as some other slippers I have had in years past. My biggest complaint is the intersole, it had bald spots in a week, I replaced it |
Question: | Care instructions |
Answer: | I think that description is the same. I've seen it described both ways. Old Friends calls it their bootee slipper. When folded down it hits just below/at the ankle. When unfolded (i.e. up) it covers the ankle. It's made of sheepskin fleece, as pictured. I love these slippers! Very comfortable and super warm. |
Question: | Where are these made |
Answer: | I really don't know. I ordered the Woman's Ankle Slipper six or seven years ago and loved them until I wore out the soles. I ordered a new pair last month and they are the same wonderful, warm and cozy slippers. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How squishy are these |
Answer: | YES! My daughter wears either a 7.5 or an 8 shoe depending on the style. I bought her the large size (8-9) and her heel came to the very back edge of the scuff. This was in bare feet. She did not like that so I had to return them for the 9.5-10.5 size. This size fits her better. Now maybe some people like their foot to sit flush with the end of the scuff. If they do, fine. My daughter said it felt like she was about to loose the scuff, like her foot was about to slip out of it. That said, these were brand new and the sheep skin was still super fluffy. Maybe after a few months of wearing them the sheepskin might get broken down a bit. Time will tell. We exchanged hers for a bigger size. |
Question: | do they have any support |
Answer: | Not sure but lining is very plush and soft - breaks in easily and very comfy. Doesn't stink so may be real... |
Question: | What is return/exchange policy |
Answer: | As a previous purchaser wrote, I also wear my slippers indoors. If the soles appear soiled, I just use a slightly soapy sponge to clean them. I also use a brush to give the sheepskin a light brushing off now and then. |
Question: | Do Old Friend Slippers contain formaldehyde |
Answer: | I no longer have the box because my granddaughter loved the dog on it! I am guessing they are made in China. They are extremely well made and worth the money. People have been commenting on the fit, but I have found that all slippers seem to run a bit small. If you are in-between sizes, go up. The "fluff" inside makes them a bit snug at first, but they will mold to fit your foot in a couple times wearing them. This is my second pair over the last couple years. I just like new ones! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can these moccasins be worn during summer |
Answer: | I would not call them squishy. The interior of the slipper is very comfortable. The plush fur like is very warm, and the loft of insole feels firm with a little give. JUST RIGHT. We love these slippers. |
Question: | The photos show only the cinnamon color has furry lining. does anyone know if that is correct? thank you |
Answer: | Not really. They can be adjust to get quite snug but there isn’t any support in the arch. |
Question: | Are these shoes heavy |
Answer: | Same as Amazon. I've never had to return these though and have purchased these 3 times. |
Question: | the picture shows fur lining but the description says terry cloth. Which is it |
Answer: | They contain sheepskin which is cuddly and warm and makes your feet feel nice. Ingredients were NOT listed on the box. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do they run true to size |
Answer: | Not sure if the concern is sweating in the shoes but I wear them in the summer on cool nights (and my feet sweat more than some, I think). My feet don't sweat in these like they have in other Old Friend mocs with fleece lining. Does that help? |
Question: | what country makes this slipper |
Answer: | i purchased the cinnamon color because it showed a picture of furry lining. they do not have furry lining. |
Question: | Are the insoles removable |
Answer: | I don't think they are heavy at all. They are durable and warm but not nearly as heavy as a shoe |
Question: | What does the 2E and 5E stand for. I know its width but how wide |
Answer: | The picture of the 'Cinnamon' slipper shows fuzzy fleece, but the 'bulleted' description sayss suede. I ordered a pair for my wife, but returned them to order the fleece-lined style 441165. |
