Answer:	The heel is about 1-3/4 inch. Very comfortable and easy to dance in. I’m used to an inch and one-half heel and these are just a smidge higher.

Answer:	One piece of buckle slips over the other, so I would say that's what you are referring to. The buckles are light weight, but I've had no problems with them so far. I have found the shoes to be extremely comfortable. They have a chemical smell when you first get them so put them somewhere to air out. I am between a 7 and 7.5 and the 7.5 fits perfectly.

Answer:	It is sized in Men's sizes … but in reality, the shoe won't know who's wearing it. So Veterans of all genders can wear it.

Answer:	I ordered the brown ones. This color pictured is raisin so I'm assuming it is more of a burgundy. The ones we ordered were exactly as they were pictured. However, caution. The shoe was a bit shorter in length than the same size we had previously purchased at a local department store. I would order a half size up.

Answer:	No! These laces are internally routed through upper shoe fold which reaches around 'ankle' area. What is very bizarre about design is that laces run about 6 to 8 inches too long each side. You will end up dragging textile laces along the ground. I own a dozen boat shoes. These are the most uncomfortable foot bed you will ever feel. Stick to either Sperry, Sebago or Timberland. You might do better. Ever since these U.S. brands produced offshore in third world plants, fit is hit and miss. You may have to try a few of each model on to find one that feels good on your foot.
