I wear generic orthotics to save my feet (consider it, plantar facitutus sucks). Thin sock season? Put a thin Dr Scholls underneath. Ok...generic too. |

| Answer: | I live in the mountains in northern Colorado and I've worn (and worn out) Keen Targhee boots for many years. They're the most comfortable boots I've found. But they are not really waterproof. I would describe them as "water resistant". They work fine for awhile in heavy dew or an occasional step into a puddle that isn't too deep; but in drenched grass or continuous rain, my feet get soaking wet. I have tried wearing gators under my pant legs and over the Targhee's and that helps considerably - but my feet still get wet if I am hiking in wet conditions for several hours. I have a pair of Asolo boots with goretex that I wear in those conditions - but they aren't as comfortable. |

| Answer: | these boots are really light and super comfortable. the arch support is better than any other boots i have had. I wear them for work every day for 10-12 hours a day and my feet and knees don't hurt and my legs are not fatigued like i have had happen with sub par boots. This is the second pair of keen boots i have owned and have been nothing but happy with them! They really hold up too. my last pair have lasted 2 years and are still going strong |

| Answer: | It's glued on. I hike in the White Mountains on a regular basis and these are the only three season boots I will wear. Still, as tough as they are (and they do hold up!), I'm on my third pair as part of the sole grips peel off after a few hundred miles. |

| Answer: | I believe these run a little larger. I wear a US size 12 Targhee II shoe and hiking boot, bit the size 12 Pittsburgh Soft Toe was too large for me. |

| Answer: | Honestly I don't think so. They really breakdown quick once they get wet. Even if they say waterproof/resistant that isn't the case. You will still get moisture inside being in snow. Foot bed doesn't hold up after that. Otherwise I love these boots. They have great support as a boot, but much lighter. I have tried helping preserve the integrity of them by using grease/waterproof treatment too. I am on my feet all day and do multi-type terrain and all weather conditions. I wear "muck" boots for that wet weather conditions to help save these. if it wasn't for wet Grass or DEEP snow, then for sure they are a great work boot for people that walk a lot. |
| Question: | In one description it says the leather is synthetic, in another that it's nubuck leather. Which is it, real leather or synthetic? Thanks |
| Answer: | I wear a Keen 8.5 and have for decades. Went with a 9 one summer b/c my feet had changed a bit. The 9 was fine length wise, but too wide. I felt too wobbly in the ankle and my feet shifted enough side to side that I didn't trust the size 9 on difficult trails. I wore the size 9 for easy hikes and day use for 3 years. I went back to the 8.5 when it was time to replace. |

| Answer: | I have a true medium width foot and they are a perfect fit. I would think they would be loose for you, and what a shame, they are awesome boots. |
