Answer:	It depends on whether the shoe runs big or small. These ran big on me, so I had to go .5 size down. Also, I need extra support, so I need them to be more snug. You can always get a thinner sock. Make sure your toes can move.

Answer:	I have the same issue! Had them a year and worn them quite often and I consistently get pain in the same area. I didn’t have this issue with leather hiking shoes. The plastic this shoe is made of does not stretch as well as leather hiking shoes. Disappointed with my purchase of these shoes and going back to Merrills.

Answer:	In general, the traction on the X Ultra is noticeably superior to other boots/shoes I’ve owned in wet or dry conditions. As to wet rocks and leaves, well, that’s a combination that can be slippery no matter what boots you’re wearing.

Answer:	Velco straps: 13 7/8" long X 1 7/8" wide. This strap is made of stretch material. Wrist straps: 15 1/2" long X 1 2/8" wide. Both straps are reasonably long enousgh. They'd easily work on ankles or almost any part of the arm. Hope that helps.
