Also, it depends on where you live and what that 'winter' looks like. That said, our quilt with the atomicLoft insulation is very warm.. warmer than most people expect and is good for a variety of weather situations. However, it will not wrap you up in that 'mummy like' cocoon so you will need to have a decent base layer in case your blanket shifts in the night. People often find quilts more comfortable to sleep in because of this aspect.
