But if they do get sour, wet down and microwave, etc... and they are good as new. I will generally use the same cloth for MONTHS. |

| Answer: | I am dealing with this now. I received a defective straightener and asked they send me a replacement for an exchange. They first asked me to send a picture or video... the straightener does not heat up so I sent a picture. Now they are asking me to cut the cord for "safety" reasons and send another picture. I started reading BBB... they have a history of delaying returns until the 21days run out and asking customers to pay shipping for a replacement! While I have been happy with my wand and brush straightener I am highly concerned with their delayed practices. Before I cut the cord I have asked for a specific plan as to how I am to receive my exchange. This is the only company that has asked for this... usually your receive a replacement and return the damaged item within a certain amount of time or have to pay for both. |

| Answer: | It depends on the style of guitar and what you prefer. Generally speaking, smaller guitars like single0, double 0 guitars, travel guitars, and parlor guitars use lighter strings like extra lights or custom lights. Bigger guitars like grand auditoriums and dreadnoughts can handle a little heavier strings like lights and mediums. 80/20 bronze generally have a brighter more treble heavy tone and phosphor bronze tend to have a warmer tone with more bass and mid range. That is just generally speaking, some guitars sound differently than expected with strings. I'd suggest buying a variety of different sets, like 80/20 in both custom light and light and phosphor bronze in custom and light as well and try each set out for a few weeks and see which tension you like the feel of and your guitar likes, and decide which material you like. Once you figure out your preference, then buy the xt version with a coating so they last a long time. |

| Answer: | Thanks for the question. I worked on the development and launch of the new X-Series at D'Addario. This is a new coating material that is thinner and more durable than EXP, giving the strings an extended lifespan without affecting the natural tone or feel of the strings. We're now also able to coat all steel strings in the set, including plain steel strings. In regards to string breakage - we're using our NY Steel wire which is a stronger steel alloy, along with our Fusion Twist process which reinforces the twist making XT strings a much stronger and more durable string. Breakage can occur for many reasons that are unrelated to the string; without seeing the issue in the context of the guitars set-up, tuning, among other variables it's difficult to say why a string broke. I can tell you that I've been playing these strings for the last three years as they've been developed and I haven't broken a single string. |
