They are not very effective in actual night time driving with oncoming headlights, etc. I ended up buying prescription lenses that are designed to better help with night driving and these work well. They are a combination of lens design and coating. I have had cataract lens replacement surgery in both eyes. I doubt this is having any impact on the effectiveness of these driving glasses. I am able to wear these for extended time periods (several hours) without a problem. I had tried a less expensive pair and the optical distortion was a problem. Not so with these.
