Answer:	I have no idea. Fits well and looks nice. Obviously if you want a really expensive wool hat this isn't for you. If you just want an every day hat you would probably like it. I didn't want to spend the over $100 for a super nice hat. I see nothing that says how much wool.

Answer:	My head is 21.5 inches and my small/medium hat fits well with a slight bit of room so it well be too big for your son. Answer:	my head diameter is 23 5/8 inches. I believe that equates to a size 7 1/2-7 5/8. this calculates to a large/extra large hat size. It fits just a little loose, but feels fine. At 7 1/4, I would think the small/medium would be ok!Good Luck. It is a very comfortable hat, so I do recommend it for comfort and warmth.

Answer:	The hat I ordered in August 2018 has a liner for sure. Not just a band. There is exposed leather face on a couple side panels, but the entire top is lined with a soft material.

Answer:	A size small might but I’d be reluctant to just say yes. Factors of size of 8 year old, how much hair, etc, would make a difference.

Answer:	I lost my hair due to chemo and I have not found any hat which keeps its shape without hair. I find this hat is better fitting than most and am considering purchasing another in a different color. Regular baseball caps fit better but I like the shape of this one better.
