| Answer: | You have to clean the wok with soap and water really good to get the factory oil off of the wok. Once it is "factory oil free" then you need to season the WOK. There are many videos on Youtube to show you how. Basically you first heat the wok over a very hot flame (I use outdoor propane burner), and hit every spot on the wok. The wok will change color. You can tell if you hit every spot on the work by watching for the color change. Then rub a small amount of oil (canola or peanut oil work well). Then heat every spot on the wok again like you did before. I will usually then do a quick stir fry with very fatty pork (like pork belly) and green onion and garlic. Done |
