Answer:	At lot depends upon how they are used. Individually, they are no more or less effective than ice itself, but without the mess. When taken as a group of packets inside a gallon storage bag, they tend to help keep each other cold and thus, last a lot longer than ice (which melts and makes a mess). Effectively, they'll keep a ice chest cold for several days without taking them out and refreezing them. I haven't actually timed their duration, but the are subject to the same kind of thing that causes ice to melt. The colder the container, the longer they last, keeping the container cold.I haven't found foam containers to be that effective as "ice chests" because the foam is more insulation, than anything to prevent cold or heat from seeping through. You need the "wall" of plastic (or whatever) on both sides of the foam to be the most effective when using an container to keep something warm or cold.

Answer:	I can't see why not. I used these to send 50 lbs. of home cooked foods to my son in Colorado. We live in Connecticut. As long as you DO NOT have any hazardous materials in them, which by the way includes "dry ice," you shouldn't have any problem at all. If you are using hazardous materials like dry ice, you need to fill out a form, which you can download from the airlines or shipping companies websites. Cold packs are perfectly fine to ship via air, and they do not need any additional paperwork filled out. They also keep items colder for "longer" than dry ice. These containers exceeded my expectations. They are durable, held far more than I ever expected to be able to get in them, sealed tight without any additional tape over the styrofoam coolers, and the corrugated box they come in is also durable, so the cooler fits snugly inside of them without any wiggle room. My son received all of his food 2 1/2 days later (1/2 day late-Fed Ex), but it still had ice crystals in it, so these packs kept it really cold. Hope this helps.

Answer:	This is quite large of a container. It will fit a good amount of sauce, depending on the size of the containers. But you have to also have room for freezer packs. As long as you have enough freezer packs in it, I don't see why you couldn't use it to ship the sauce.
