| Answer: | The feature is activated easily - just the push of a button. However, on the one I received, the opening feature doesn't have quite enough energy to open it all the way. I have to push it open the last little bit. Closing works fine, though as with most (all?) such self-activating umbrellas, the closing feature only closes the top and doesn't collapse the shaft all the way. You do that part manually. I usually push the end against the floor. That last part of closing it pushes against a spring which "cocks" the mechanism for the next opening and closing. |
