Question:	When not in use, does the upper portion of the bag collapse into the "Drop Bottom" portion? How collapsable is this bag
Answer:	Yes, it collapses and drops into the lower shell portion about 6-7". It also has an internal support that springs into position when partially or completely filled so it will stand on end without falling over. Have not used it yet, but the quality of the material looks robust. My previous Eddie Bauer duffle bag on wheels was indestructible. Gave it to my traveling son and is still in great shape.

Answer:	NO! The BODY dimensions are 29 X 19.5 X 12.5= 61" The OVERALL dimensions (used by the airlines) are 31.75 X 20.75 X 12.75 = 65.25". I got these dimensions from the tag that came attached to the luggage by Delsey. I am returning the large checked and getting the MEDIUM-Checked instead. The OVERALL dimensions for the MEDIUM-checked is 27.5 X 18 X 11.75 =57.25". This does NOT include the 2" expandability.

Answer:	They made me gatecheck this bag on a packed flight with American Airlines. It is slightly bigger than the max size for a carry on, so whether you have to gatecheck it or not is up to their discretion. Wouldn't recommend buying this bag as strictly a carry on b/c you might get charged, but it's a really great bag otherwise.

Answer:	Hey Chris. I know you asked this question back in August, but if you go by Spirit Airlines guideline of 62 linear inches for checked luggage, this bag is good to go.

Answer:	I suppose if you filled every inch to maximum capacity then you might and I was unable to fill to capacity because I would have been over weight so it did scrunch a bit. I packed it to 48 pounds and it scrunched and it was not over weight or over sized. I chose not to use the side pockets which would have made it fatter and I didn't want it getting caught on any equipment going thru the luggage tunnels at an airport. For a road trip I would have had them all full. I also used some long mailing boxes for the insides so there was a bit of form and this turned out to be an awesome idea. So, no, I did not have to pay over sized luggage fees.

Answer:	The bag has two compartments, but it’s has the ability to be one. The layer in between is a mesh compartment that separates the top and bottom half. The bottom half is around 28” long and about 14” wide. The lower compartment is about 5”deep before the upper compartment which is another 6” or so. All in all there is a lot of room in it more than most suitcases the same size.
Question:	Is the 35" version too big to be considered "standard luggage" with an airline
Answer:	Technically at 67" (h+w+d), yes by 2 inches. For most airlines it's 65 inches (h+w+d) and packed weight of 50 pounds. But guessing as long as it remained under 50 pounds in weight, most would not notice the extra 2 inches. (which could disappear if cinched down tight.)

Answer:	If packed lightly it will. Keep in mind the bag has the capacity to be stuffed and used as a checked in bag. For example, on smalll local aircrafts it wont fit in the cabin if packed too much. Hope that helped,but ive used it twice international (japan,guyana) and tons of time locally to DC. Very versatile depending on how you pack it.

Answer:	The bottom and frame are durable. I bought two of the Rockland 22" bags to haul our segway minipro's. Each weighs in at slightly under 30 pounds. We need the bags or our segways when we travel: train, auto, ship. The bags have held up without a hiccup. I bought several other bags for our before the Roclands. All failed. The wheels on the previous two bags collapsed within 100 feet from our car on our way to the train station. I could not recommend these bags more highly.

Answer:	I don't know the maximum capacity but when I put a 12 " tablet pc, a camera bag holding two digital camcorders with extra batteries and a shoulder bag with a couple of USB drives in it, it appeared to have overloaded it to the point where the two wheets started to move apart and the bottom started to drag causing holes in the fabric.

Question:	What is the length of the bottom compartment? Is it the full 35"? Would a 32" item fit inside it
Answer:	Yes, and keep in mind that if you have an item that is just a 'bit' too long- you can 'cant' it a little to the 'diagonal' so in essence you probably could fit something that is not too wide but a little longer than the full 35" length. I used this luggage to transport a lot of work equipment - it worked great and has not had any failures to date. The bottom of the bag can be fully exposed when you open up the bottom compartment/zipper. Hope this answer helps you!
