| Answer: | Sabrina, The dimensions of 15.5" x 15.5" x 10" include the wheels and the handle for the Baseline Cabin spinner. Spirit lists the dimensions that they accept for a personal item as 18" x 14" x 8". If you add up the dimensions then the baseline comes in at an overall 41" and the Spirit requirement is 40". I have been able to take this cabin spinner on a plane along with the Briggs and Riley tote as my 'purse.' Even though the Briggs and Riley page says that you can put it under the seat in front of you, you cannot since they have moved the seats so close together. You can get it in the area between the seat and tray table back but you cannot flip it so that it goes under the seat. I put mine in the overhead rack and put the more flexible tote under the seat in front of me. My experience has been that this really looks like such a small piece of carry-on compared to some of the stuff people bring on the plane that the airline personnel usually ignore it because they are after much larger pieces of luggage that people try to bring on board. I've not had to put it in one of those sizing things just because it looks 'small.' It's a great piece of luggage if you can pack wisely. There are lots of pockets and a place to store an iPad or small computer. I've never rode Spirit, so I don't know how fussy they are about carry-on pieces. |

| Answer: | I'm not sure. I've only used mine on the larger airplanes. It is smaller than the standard carry-ons. I would suggest you try to look up, on the internet, the particular class of jet you'll be flying and see if they list the specifications for the overhead bins. I found that even though the size of the cabin spinner would permit it to be stored under the seat in front of me that it was impossible to get it in this position because the airline have moved the seats so close together that you cannot flip the bag on its side to fit underneath. Also, for the overhead bin, remember that the fram is on the outside of the cabin spinner so when you measure the space make sure you take this into account. |

| Answer: | I've had no problem getting this bag into the overhead bin on a US Air flight to the Bahamas in October 2014. You should go to the American Airlines page and check out the type of jet that you will be flying. Then see what the dimensions are for the overhead bin and the under seat area. Now, here's the problem with trying to fit this under the seat in front of you. I found that although the bag would probably have fit under the seat (it certainly had the correct dimensions), I could not manipulate it into the space where my legs would have been and then been able to flip it and then slide it under the seat. The other thing to remember is that other people are boarding and you don't have a lot of time to do luggage gymnastics in the coach area of a plane. In First Class, you might be able to do this manuever. The airlines have so reduced the space between seats in the coach section that it's very hard to get something "solid" like this into the space where your legs are. I bought the Briggs and Riley large tote (very big and roomy) with this cabin piece and put the tote under the seat and the cabin bag in the overhead bin. Between the two pieces I could pack enough summer clothes and "stuff" for a week's vacation in the Bahamas. Good luck with your trip. |
