Answer:	I'm not sure about the type of aircraft United uses, but if it's an Airbus or a Boeing it probably will fit if your luggage is 22" or less in length

Answer:	This model does not have the securing straps for the balls but there are dividers between the balls to keep them from hitting each other and the ball compartment is pretty tight so the balls do not move much while being transported. If you do want the retaining straps for the balls then the Storm Rolling Thunder series does have this.

Yet I swear our daughter pulls out more books and folders than you'd think it should hold.
