Answer:	The front compartment can fit an iPAD, but my Surface Pro3 would not fit. The main compartment would certainly be able to fit a 15.6in laptop. There is no protection though. On my last trip I actually put a small laptop bag inside the main compartment with my SurfacePro3 and accessories inside. And was still able to fit a pair of shoes and a change of clothes for one day.

I confirmed this with AA - they at least could likely charge $200 dollars to check this bag; esp. if the agent happened to be in a bad mood that day, lol. I wish I read Doc Jim's May 7, 2017 review post before purchasing this bag from PORTMANTOS and having to pay the return costs for it.

Question:	How can it be kept looking new? I love the leather and worry about its longevity in spite of the reviews
Answer:	Yes, it is but in certain way. The height is the same pretty much while the width and the thickness is def different. I was on the fence choosing between Alpha 2 (or 3) and Sheppard deluxe and wend with Alpha 3. The main two reasons are capacity and accessibility. The Sheppard model looks slimmer and not so "masculine", but the way main compartment opens it's def not what I wanted. In my opinion it's like bottleneck opening with enough room inside and not enough opening size to get things there. The pockets in Alpha 3 are also has much larger capacity and functionality.
