Answer:	I am sending my sons coat back. The zipper is cheap and we haven’t even had it for two month and it broke. As for your question I got my son who is normally a 14 and 5 ft talk a size 16. Answer:	I would say that -30 Fahrenheit is probably too cold for this coat without a sweatshirt or fleece under it. It has been good around zero degrees, but I think that is about the boundary of it’s ability. Of course, it would be just fine in you added some layers.

Answer:	Hi Dawn: We live in Philadelphia where the winters aren't terribly cold. Average temp 32 degrees with the average low being 25 degrees. This jacket kept my grand daughter warm but I don't think it would be heavy enough if you lived in a colder climate. For a prolonged period outside she wore layers underneath.
