Answer: I got this for my 9 year old who mainly wears a 7/8 but can sometimes wear a 10 and we got her the medium and it's a good fit for her. She is very skinny so the belt is very big and we are going to buy some extra velcro for it. But the length and fit of the rest of the costume is perfect. I would think the large would fit a 10/12. That's the size I ordered for my other daughter who wears a 10/12 in the Padme costumer. Different costume, but seems like similar sizing. Hope that helps!

Answer: I would say a Small. I am 5'1 1/2" and about 125 lbs and initially got an XS, which fit width wise, but the costume was a bit short for me and the foam at the crotch area deformed because the top of the costume was tugging downwards. The leg area was also a bit tight. I exchanged it for a small and it's not as form fitting (minor wrinkles in the thigh area when I wear it) and the length is a bit long, but it works for me.
