Answer:	These ran big for us. If you get size 12 they should fit for awhile. I can't comment on the durability, because we returned them.

Answer:	My grandaughter, age 6 wears size12 shoes. I got her size11-12 and they fit her fine. She loves them. They are very durable. I don't know for real the size you need, but if I was ordering for the him, I would order the next size up so he can wear them longer than 6 months. 4 year old child
