Answer:	Yes the entire jacket is waterproof. The hood has strings in it that can keep your hood in place so your hair will stay dry. The jacket has a zipper and velcro on top of that. If you keep your jacket open and it's raining, you will probably get slightly wet. But if you zip it up, use the velcro, and pull in the strings for the hood, you will stay dry!

Answer:	It is the BEST windbreaker, rain jacket I've ever owned. It is so well made, using water-repellent material. The hood is permanently attached so that water can never seep down your neck. Every part of this jacket is well-designed, such as the velcro fitted cuffs (no alterations needed). Above all, the color choices are beautiful; the jacket is super comfortable and the price for such quality is reasonable. I bought four--couldn't resist the colors and the flattering fit. ( BTW, I was glad to have this jacket during the rainy weather that followed the recent hurricane. I wore it to fill the birdfeeders out back. All I had to do when I got back to the porch, was to shake my jacket a few times, and most of the water on my jacket was gone. I stayed completely dry!)

Answer:	It dries really fast! These are great shirts, my husband has four of the tamiani and several of the different styles, the Tamiami is his favorite. The logo is sewn on so it can be removed with a seem ripper. Some other styles are an iron on logo and turn up at the corners a little bit after a lot of Wear.

Answer:	It's the same size - size S means small and size Small means small. Columbia men's small size is usually 38-40 inches in the chest. Columbia sizing is usually one size bigger than normal. I have a 38-40 chest and usually wear a medium in most manufacturer's clothes but not Columbia clothing.

Answer:	Well for reference, I am 6'3" 210 lbs, and wear a 16 1/2, 34-35 fitted shirt size. I wear larges in everything else, and think the medium fits well, and it's a comfortable fit. Have no issues with room in the sleeve and armpit. The Medium is perfect fit for me, I just felt the large was a little too baggy and a bit long in the torso.

You are not going to get -20 gear for under $175.

The Utilizer is a stiff nylon ( think windbreaker ) with an attached fleece lining ... The Ascender is more of a " soft shell" fleece jacket.
